Over the last couple of months I've been working to see if a modern web browser could realistically become a serious platform for real-time guitar processing. With a bit of effort, the answer turned out to be yes.
Today I'm releasing a major Axion update that expands the project beyond the browser into a complete cross-platform guitar ecosystem.
What's new:
• Native Windows desktop application
• Native macOS desktop application
• Plugin versions
• ASIO support on Windows
• WASAPI Exclusive support on Windows
• Neural Amp Modeler (NAM) support
• MIDI control support
• Preset sharing
• Browser, desktop and plugin workflows built around the same core platform
The browser version remains available and requires no installation, but users who prefer traditional workflows can now use Axion as a native application or plugin.
A few technical details:
• Real-time DSP
• Web Audio + AudioWorklets
• WebAssembly processing
• Cabinet IR loading
• NAM model loading
• Local audio processing (audio is not uploaded)
I'd genuinely love feedback from KVR users, particularly regarding:
• Latency and feel
• Plugin workflow
• NAM implementation
• Preset management
• Missing features you'd expect from a modern amp sim

Thanks for taking a look, and I'm happy to answer any questions.
