Waveform 14 Public Beta

I complained about this stupidity back at the launch of version 12. If the monitor is vertical, you won't be able to place any other window on it with sufficient visibility, except for the cutting board or the MIDI editor window, and now also the action window (which apparently was transformed from quick actions?). The manipulation that you propose works so poorly that, in principle, it should have been strangled right in the cradle, because if we separate the track window from the main one, and place the main one in vertical space, we will get side panels no more than half the space of the main window. Increase the number of side panels and stop seeing their contents altogether. Congratulations.

Awesome, as long as it works for you nothing else matters.
I'm being negative because I don't like the direction 14 is going and it also means that 13 will almost certainly become abandonware. I don't see any reason at all to be positive about 14.phreak wrote: Mon Jun 01, 2026 6:33 pmI don’t understand why people are being so negative about Waveform here.
I have already learned how to use Waveform Pro. Why should I have to learn it again just for features that I don't care one bit about and never asked for in the first place?
I spent a lot of time dialing in 13's workflow and interface to suit my needs and now I'm supposed to pay to do it all over again even though it won't be the same in 14?
Adding stuff just to justify charging an upgrade fee doesn't win my loyalty. This is a perfect example of a destructive update.
You mean their support? The same "support" that going on a year now has never responded to my last report? Seems like a futile gesture to me.phreak wrote: Mon Jun 01, 2026 6:33 pmif there really are specific bugs, report them through the channels provided by Tracktion.

I am happy to help, user-to-user, and I am reporting issues to Tracktion in as much detail as possible, and I know that their support should be improved and especially more maintenance updates with more fixed bugs in shorter time should become published.
I know that for technical issues this forum offers a fair chance to get help from a really nice community!
Either accept what you got, or move on. I for my needs and for now can accept what I got with WF PRO.
Instead of a static, fixed sized and cluttered bottom panel now more working with a detachable panel at the side, which is prepared to hold more actions, and even having two of these panels which allows me to access actions and information from two different selected items, isn't any bad change. Instead of looking to the bottom and the side, now looking to the left and the right, and even having in the past found different organization of the content between the Properties Panel and Actions Panel, now having identically reacting panels, and these can fold and hide content in a three-level favorites hierarchy, this to me is the opposite of a deal breaker. I find it to be a helpful win.
But I doubt that other users here in the forum would try to convince me to love WF, and the same I should also stop to praise the new features of WF14. If my love would be gone then I eventually would have to take my decision to move on to other solutions. I would not expect that other users are much interested in my personal pain, and could or would cure my broken love.

It's easy to accept something you like. If you didn't like 14 you'd be having complaints as well.talby wrote: Tue Jun 09, 2026 9:39 pm Either accept what you got, or move on. I for my needs and for now can accept what I got with WF PRO.
I've grown to like even love Waveform Pro 13 to a degree but I hate 14. Accept that or move on.
To you.
I could not possibly care less what other users are interested in. I'm simply expressing my opinions, not that anyone from Tracktion would ever see them in their own sub-forum even though once in a great while one of the coders does pop in here.talby wrote: Tue Jun 09, 2026 9:39 pmI would not expect that other users are much interested in my personal pain, and could or would cure my broken love.
You talk about "community" here but really how many of us are there? A dozen or so? The "community" can't fix design flaws or bugs. Ask yourself why Waveform isn't more popular.
One possible reason is because it's always felt like someone's after school project that only gets worked on when they have some spare time or need to generate some revenue with a paid update. It's never felt like a project that has priority with a dedicated full time team of developers and support staff.
The bottom line for me is that I will not pay for the 14 update and I'm sure that defeats the whole purpose of why there is a 14 in the first place.
I'll just stick with 13 with all of its quirky and glitchy behavior and hope it keeps running into the future since I'm sure we've seen the last update for it. They can barely keep one version going so I don't expect them to keep working on an older version as well.
