The brewery which hosts our open-mic night here in Burbank is closing, so I'm contacting people to find a new venue for that. Ugh, I'm not good at talking to people.
At the same time, I'm helping my friends at Seaside Modular and Analog Haven to start up the Modular On The Spot events here in LA again.
Not much time for me to work on my own music but I'm really happy to help provide opportunities for indie musicians to perform around LA and build their profiles. It's incredibly fulfilling to watch people who performed for the first time at one of our events, who are now touring and releasing music.

Oooh, that would be really fun! :hyper: excited for you :)

I attended a session of Modular On The Spot at the no longer open Patchwerks shop several years ago. Really interesting hanging out/talking shop with Bana Haffar. She was super nice, and sooo talented. Would love to see a MOTS take place at Analog Haven, as I've bought probably a quarter (or more) of my eurorack stuff from Shawn over the past decade. Always a pleasure to work with.
I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

When I worked at M-Audio, some of my co-workers and I would go out to Analog Haven on our lunch break. That was back when the shop was in Pomona (what is now Noisebug) and Shawn would always chat with us. He's a heck of a guy... it would be hard to overstate the impact he's had on the synth world.

Analog Haven doesn't have a store front anymore but he's still running the web shop. From what I was told, the park where we'll be hosting this Modular on the Spot is the same place where the first MOTS events were held.
