Hey folks. I have a couple Roland sample CDs both in ISO and in actual CD format. Am I correct in saying that Convert won't work with these? I can't get the ISOs or CDs to be seen.

ConvertWithMoss is a batch converter, which means you select a folder not single files. That's why you do not see the ISOs. Simply select the folder which contains them.

Thank you for your reply. I'm getting the .log file with no actual NKI or Omnisphere output files. I'm sure it's user error somewhere. The log file generates almost instantly, but no conversion happens. This is new to me, so I'll dig a little deeper. Due to the proprietary format of the Roland CDs, my optical drive won't read them.

"ConvertWithMoss 18.0.0

Yes, user error. I had selected the Roland 5xx as the source and not the 7xx. Sorry

Is this error important?

"Could not load file: Referenced sample data is larger than the available data."

Does it mean samples are missing?

Could be a Save which spans multiple disks. What is the input format S-5xx or S-7xx? It is not implemented for S-5xx since I have no examples. In both cases I would like to take a look at your source file(s).

My main bit of confusion at the beginning was expecting to select an individual file to convert .

Once I saw that it was folder based and that I had to analyse before converting ( to get past the folder empty error) it’s all been fine .

All this is probably in the manual .. I should’ve looked first .

Hi, couple of years ago I sampled all my synths into Mpc keygroup format then in that time I have used Moss to convert them to various formats with great success.
Trying to do the same now into Omnisphere and not having a lot of success.
Latest batch I tried was a load of Alesis QS stuff in key group format, in each folder I end up with loads of the little .db files with the sample name but they are coming out all at like 1kb each so as if they do not actually contain the sample data, having similar results with tal and nnxt conversions, any ideas please?

Edit, did the same key group into tal format and perfect including sample data
MACOS if that makes any difference

ConvertWithMoss 18.1 is online!

Get it from https://mossgrabers.de
  • New: Added CLI parameters ProcessAlwaysResample and ProcessLoopCrossfade.
  • New: Added processing option to set a fixed loop cross-fade.
  • New: Redesign of processing dialog.
  • Elektron Tonverk (thanks to Douglas Carmichael)
    • New: Sample chunks are only written when a loop is present and instrument/broadcast audio chunks are off by default since the Tonverk WAV parser is strict (factory files only contain 'fmt ', 'data' and 'smpl' chunks).
    • Fixed: The preset file is now written with the correct '.elmulti' extension (was '.emulti') which the Tonverk requires.
    • Fixed: Samples are now physically trimmed to the zone start/end instead of writing 'trim-start'/'trim-end' which the Tonverk only supports for single-file multi-samples and rejected the preset otherwise.
    • Fixed: Loop positions written to the preset file were not updated for re-sampling and trimming. Loops are also clamped into the sample boundaries and short single-cycle loops keep their exact length when re-sampling to prevent pitch drift.
    • Fixed: A velocity layer with velocity 0.0 made the Tonverk reject the whole preset and import the WAV files as loose samples. The factory default velocity is used instead.
    • Fixed: The key-center was written with an inverted tuning direction.
    • Fixed: Sample file references in the preset file could differ from the written WAV file names if a zone name contained characters which needed to be replaced. Samples are now named following the Elektron factory convention 'Name-VVV-NNN-note.wav'.
    • Fixed: 'keep-looping-on-release' is now written for looped samples (the Tonverk otherwise stops looping on key release).
    • Fixed: Preset names containing a single quote produced an invalid preset file.
  • Ensoniq EPS/EPS16+/ASR-10
    • New: Added a 'P' in front of the Patch-number for better readability.
    • Fixed: EFE files which use "Instrument" instead of "Instr" as the file type identifier could not be loaded.
  • Omnisphere 3
    • Fixed: Samples with a delayed play-back start were not written (empty db-file).
Enjoy!
