Element doesn't use much CPU, IME.

For me they always have problems with my massive plugin collection. Of course, my pc
atm is pretty lame cpu-wise.

Yes, 100% you’re right. It’s super hard to find things in Element.

Commercial? Price?
Sample based modulation?
ETA?
OS = win/mac/linux . I will force it to build on all systems although I only have PC. But I will buy a mac to get it working, I've worked on macos before and it has to be my next laptop because the PC laptop market is just messed up
Commercial yes. and with that serious support. I take that very seriously!
Price? I haven't decided yet. Not expensive, I don't want it to be prohibitively expensive, but not $10 either. I will support it and it won't be that rent to own, or subscription. When you buy it, you OWN it.
ETA? I just have to come up with a name and hand out free alphas and betas to willing testers! And as a thanks for helping you get the plug of course. Anyone interested can just PM me and as fast as I come up with a good name, I will hand it out!

Sample based modulation? If you mean per sample / audio rate modulation, then YES. Default is 1/4 but in settings you can set it to 1/1 (audio rate)
Very interesting! You've got my attention with "Linux Support". :) The big question now, is copy protection. What kind of copy protection do you plan to use? I'm not a fan of any copy protection that prevents a user from being able to activate software from an archive onto a new computer even when the business no longer exists (Vendor Dependent copy protection, ie challenge/response, etc).
Vendor‑Dependent Copy Protection: Customers lose. Pirates win.
(Also: I'm Accused of lying about Linux—it boots, runs my pro audio workflow, stays stable, updates--though yearly dismissed as “niche”. Yet I'm the deluded one.)

Just a normal license key :) like Valhalla does. That is the idea! if you have the small license file it should work everywhere

And I know of one more currently in closed beta.

It's about to be a very crowded market for such a thing!
everything goes in cycles...dsp network graph databases were all the rage...whether self contained, or hosting plugins, stock dsp modules, or roll your own
synthedit/synthmaker/bidule/audiomulch/cycling 74/reaktor/sunvox/tracktion/hh/agl/energy xt/fork/integra/cabbage/mux/carla/alpha forever/freestyle...

now its a renaissance again with
fl patcher/bitwig grid/bespoke/plugdata/msh/fiasco/mnodes/FFOSSO
didnt know about the phasetape one...people will really do anything to prevent themselves from finishing a song ;-)
Music had a one night stand with sound design.....And the condom broke

Small update: I'm at the point where I'm ready for a few testers (MacOS is coming) :)

It's now stable enough for testing on Windows/VST3, so I’m mainly looking for people who enjoy experimental modular effects, and can send useful feedback if something breaks :) (hopefully it won't!)

Would be nice to see if someone makes something cool with it! :D
