Hi everyone,

I’ve been lurking around KVR Audio for quite a while, soaking up the incredible wealth of knowledge here, and figured it’s finally time to step out of the shadows, say hello, and properly introduce myself.

My name is Jan, I'm 21, and I'm based in Northern Germany. I live in that weird intersection where music and code constantly fight for my time:

  • The Musical Side:
I’m a composer and producer deeply in love with piano and acoustic string arrangements. Like most of you, I spend way too many hours tweaking expression maps, automating MIDI, and trying to make virtual ensembles sound like a real scoring stage.

  • The Tech Side:
I’m a software developer focusing on application development and DSP (Digital Signal Processing).

A few months ago, I got incredibly frustrated with a dense orchestral mix where the woodwinds and brass were completely swallowing the lower frequencies of my celli and the clarity of my piano. I tried standard sidechaining and FFT-based dynamic EQs, but I absolutely hated how they either smeared the sharp transients of the staccatos or introduced weird artifacts.
So, I decided to build my own solution. I've been developing a highly focused, 24-band multitrack demasking tool that operates entirely in the time-domain via a shared-memory matrix across plugin instances. It cleans up frequency conflicts dynamically while keeping the phase and transients 100% intact.
It’s currently in the heavy testing phase (shouting out to JUCE 8!), and I’m getting ready to run a small, closed beta soon to see how it handles massive real-world DAW sessions and different operating systems.

I’m incredibly excited to finally be an active part of this community, to talk shop about sample libraries, mixing workflows, and maybe even some DSP nerd-stuff if anyone is interested.
Looking forward to connecting with you all!

Best regards,
Jan

Welcome Jan! That shared-memory matrix approach sounds great, let me know if you need any beta testers for the plugin.

Hey knob_monster, I will let you know when the beta is ready, there are some small issues to solve, then I will start a closed beta, also to check if it works in other DAWs.

Well, that is precisely the art of mixing — something you learn over a
long period, taking decades rather than just a few years. You really
can't do it without learning step-by-step and gaining practical
experience. Getting the sound right takes a great deal of patience,
time, and hard work.

Good exposure that’s true, so long as you don’t mind giving it away for free.

Anyway, welcome.

One way to do it is to release a commercial version post. Tho I believe the entry has to
be free and unlimited.

Thats what I meant. I will give it in the Beta for free. Afterwards, a free trial and after that if it is worth, paid.

Hmm, possibly, tho I would avoid calling it a beta for that. Best read the rules first.

In any event, not a bad introduction strategy though, for sure.
