I just PMd you.

Not sure if you have already access to PMs.
If not, it requires you to have 5 posts in this forum. You have 3 now.
To do PMs you definitly have to have 5 posts. ( just make two ghost posts ;) )

It`s a feature request idea that does not exist so far. Not in any such tool.
( i`m coming from a "HW modular" backround. There we can freely patch in that way. In digital land, -from what i can see-, nobody has ever thought of "that" )

It`s an idea, meant as an idea ;).....but maybe you like it ;)
"Plugin has turned Drug now"....and the business knows it.

+1 for MPE support

The things I was asking for were Audio Feature Extraction and Phase Modulation a’ia the Rossum Assimil8or.

AFE could be used for all kinds of stuff, analysis of samples for various properties and whatnot. Could make for quite a browser, or some interesting modulation etc.

Maybe there’s a way to analyze samples for their suitability in regard to granular processing for instance.

Thanks everyone for all the great feedback and feature requests. I'll aim to email customers when I make updates and keep a running release notes on the website also.

I'm very dedicated to developing Phonon further - as well as new plugin ideas - though I'm also more time limited than I'd like to be. Growth will be organic over time which is hard when there's so many interesting and helpful angles I'd love to pursue faster!

There's a few of these ideas already on my list - like MPE, pitch quantisation and looking into MTS-ESP microtuning. For per-grain processing, I've been cautious about CPU usage and so I kept per-grain processing focused on precision scheduling, grain resampling and modulation which already gives unique sound quality and capabilities. But ALL these great ideas are very interesting to me and I'd love to explore them all (and plenty of others I have too). Please do feel free to keep sharing :) and I'd also love to hear how you are using Phonon. Or if you'd like to share presets, please let me know - I'd love to host preset packs from creators using Phonon.

...It phones home, it has an offline version that phones home... test it
yourself.

Unnecessary, I now have all the info I need. Thanks for the long version answer.

Hi - Nick here from PolyFreq. Thanks for your interest in Phonon :)

I've just updated Phonon to v1.0.4, and a couple of days ago was v1.0.3 with a bunch of small improvements. There are release notes on the download page link. I may add historical release to the website sometime too.

Anyhow - I wanted to just mention that the offline licensing does not contact a server at all.

The only server connection is when you upload the "machine" signature file to the server in exchange for a license file which you load into Phonon to activate it. You can do this via any browser on any computer, not just the computer you want to license.

Phonon is currently set to allow 2 activations, and if this doesn't meet your needs, please let me know and we can figure out what works.

I have also now added a right-click menu to the PolyFreq logo in the plugin to enable you to deactivate the online license (which does ping the server), and to get an offline license if you happen to have already activated online. I will document this on the website or in a manual soon.

Hope this helps!

Thank you Nick, I appreciate you addressing this.

So just for clarification, after activating a license- offline or otherwise; would I be able to use it in perpetuity offline on a cpu not connected in any way to the internet w/out the need for periodic signing on/reactivating online?

To some this may seem "ok boomer" eye roll worthy (though I'm on the younger side of barely even gen-xer) or overly nitpicky, what have you, (not saying you think this, but just broadly speaking) however to me it really is the make or break / buy or don't buy qualifier.
