If you like specific drums from the 80s then maybe you could sample some of those sounds and manipulate them.

You can load samples and it will resynthesize them and let you manipulate them. The possibilities with this are endless.

I ended up picking VSDSX, Ephemere, Microtonic... If I could, I'd have picked up quite a few more, but I've been taking it easy lately, because the last time I loaded my DAW with plugins, I ended up not using everything.
