If you want to feel better about Fender Studio in that regard, take a look at Bitwig 6 :hihi:

Yeah but as I said, I can already load 16 songs and switch between them instantaneously with just 16GB of RAM to play with, so I am not seeing any advantage here. It might be of benefit to a small number of users, in very specific circumstances, but it's not going to have new users beating a path to Fender's door (or should that be "to Fender's daw").

It doesn't seem like that to me at all. Quite the opposite, SPro feels less glitchy and more robust/reliable than Cubase ever did. 4 or 5 years and three albums in and I have never lost any work. OTOH, in the 18 months or so and one album I worked on in Cubase, I lost work on several occasions. And my short stint with Bitwig wasn't much better, sometimes things just wouldn't work.

Have you ever tried to find anything in Studio One/Pro's help? It's next to f**king useless. Any AI assistance to help you find answers might actually be worthwhile to some people.

Yes that was my point, so it really shouldn't be just for subscribers

Google NotebookLM on my iPad with every PDF I have for Studio One as well as links to (longer, >20mins) YT videos also does a good job! :tu:

Obviously they want to sell more subs as their sub model has pretty much failed so far.
Ughh it’s early access for subscription. Once it’s out of beta it’s going to come to everybody. Everyone, be angry if you want but this is not a subscription only. I’d be pissed too if I thought that.

And your source for this is...?

I have the opposite take in that the introduction of AI will prevent me from updating from 8 to 8.1. There's nothing in SP8 or S16 (which I currently use) which I need help finding.

More to the point I don't want AI in my DAW. Not b/c I'm anti-AI, AI has incredible potential (good & bad) in many areas but songwriting/producing- at least in the composition phase, is not one of them.

Same w/ Splice integration or soundcloud, all these integrations, no thank you. Let me integrate when/ where I choose. I know how to use the internet, the extra-step saved for slight more convenience I can & want to live without.

That said, I do believe everyone should have a personal AI tailored to them and there needs completely free of all guard rails which they can have independent of the internet. Maybe on a thumbdrive, or downloadable as a file which you can load up how you want and continue feeding whichever data/info you like into it that evolves w/ you, entirely decentralized.

But that's a convo for another thread, maybe another site.

It looks like this is just a smarter help system, so far at least.

Modern DAWs already do everything and Grammy winning Albums were already being tracked on Pro Tools 25 years ago being fed into large format consoles. How many new features do DAWs in 2026 really need?
Intel Core2 Quad CPU + 4 GIG RAM
