Thank you, that genuinely means a lot. Glad it's clicking for you.trusampler wrote: Tue Jun 16, 2026 5:05 am Incredible update Jonas, thank you! Things are looking really polished now.
One little thing I just discovered this was already in v1.0 but the up/down arrows work great for navigating the preset list and browser, really nice touch. I did notice though that the arrows don't seem to work in the regular browser view as well. Not sure if that's intentional or if it would cause any conflicts, but it felt like a natural extension of the same workflow so thought it was worth mentioning.
A couple of questions, because I can genuinely see STRANG 2 becoming a daily driver in my setup and landing permanently in my template:
1. Do you have plans to add MIDI learn via a simple right-click context menu? Right now I'm routing everything through the DAW which works fine, but native MIDI learn would make this so much faster to map to hardware controllers.
2. Any plans to allow MIDI note range settings per layer? That would open the door to proper keyboard splits, which would be a game changer for live performance. Or maybe it's possible sorry if I'm not seeing it.
Serious synth here, the tones coming out of this thing are unlike anything else. Nothing in my kit sounds like it. Thank you for building something this special!![]()
Good catch on the arrow keys, you're right, they should work in the regular browser view too. No reason they don't, it just slipped through. I'm on it!
On your questions:
1. MIDI learn via right-click yes, we need this. Routing through the DAW shouldn't be the only way. It's on my list.
2. Per-layer note range / keyboard splits I love this one. STRÄNG already runs two layers under the hood, so splits are a natural next step. Going on the roadmap, just gonna figure out the best way.
That you can see it as a daily driver is pure joy to me! Thank you for taking the time to write all this up, it genuinely helps shaping STRÄNG and I will hopefully soon have these updates up and running

It looks very nice
Isn't this closer to physical modelling than subtractive?

I actually came at it from the subtractive side. I wanted that familiar warmth and then gave it superpowers with convolution, so it leans physical modelling in feel but is meant to live in subtractive's comfort zone. Something like that..

I really like the sound and the simplicity of the synth! I have two requests that would push me into purchase territory:quantasticalsound wrote: Sun Jun 14, 2026 5:07 pmRight now it's online activation, and after that it runs offline, only needing to reach the server about once a month. Fully offline activation is supported by Moonbase and on my near-term roadmap, it's just not exposed in the UI yet.nordickvr wrote: Sun Jun 14, 2026 4:14 pm Moonbase offers the option to authorize/use a plugin totally offline without any “phone home” routine necessary.
Is this the case with Strang?
Dealbreaker for you?
1. I'm a linux user. I would LOVE to have a Linux native version.
2. With copy protection, I look for one thing, which has been successfully proven capable of being done, by other developers -- I want to be able to archive my software and its authorization, and be able to pull it off my back up drive and authorize my software onto a new machine, even if the company no longer exists or no longer supports the product. It can be serial, keyfile, watermark, a data card (like U-he and Plogue use), or whatever.
Please consider providing these things!
Vendor‑Dependent Copy Protection: Customers lose. Pirates win.
(Also: I'm Accused of lying about Linux—it boots, runs my pro audio workflow, stays stable, updates--though yearly dismissed as “niche”. Yet I'm the deluded one.)
