Looking for a Solid ASIO Driver on Windows 11

FWIW, this fall, we'll have an optional (and eventually in-box, but not during the preview period) USB Audio Class 2 driver preview you can install and use with just about any USB Audio Class 2 device. Yamaha has been writing it with us. It's all open source at https://aka.ms/asio in case you like to look at code.

For my personal setup, I use an RME HDSPe MADI FX and a Ferrofish A32 pro, but have had good to great results with many other interfaces, including Steinberg/Yamaha, MOTU, and Focusrite

I have pretty much heard good things here, and on GearSpace( ) regarding RME stuff, drivers included! Yes, expensive.

It is likely that real good, high quality drivers are developed by a few folks around the world. Sure, you pay for quality, same as it ever was.

I am more interested in NATIVE LINUX drivers for hardware products, and graphics apps, not to mention actual video card support. I know there already is some, and gratitude for that.

I think in linux the solution has to come form the community in developing kernel level driver comparable to mac core audio. I don't think audio interface brands as RME, focusrite, etc have any financial incentive to develop drivers for linux, since it is already an expensive endeavor for windows (as you correctly figure it out that experts on this field are scarce).

Your point is real, but I have not much looked at "mac core audio", so if you wanna elaborate, I am listening. From my brief read on Wikipedia, it is about deep O.S. audio support, right?? Well that is what Linux has, correct?

Agree that the whole"financial incentive" thing is important. I am willing to pay for high quality NATIVE Linux software. That should include custom made drivers, should it not?

I am thinking about hardware support here, like for specific devices.
