It would be cool to have the SYNC/FREE button in the Stutter module as a modulation target.

New update available:

4 New effects:

- AETHER a lush algorithmic reverb (a dense feedback-delay network) with size, width, diffusion, modulation, decay, predelay and shimmer.

- CLANG a ring modulator with two personalities: RING (classic, clean ring modulation) and GRIND (audio-rate erosion / digital grind), plus carrier waveform selection, pitch tracking, a sub-octave blend, stereo width, and an LFO with 19 shapes.

- ORBIT an auto-panner.

- TREMOR a tremolo.

Modulation goes deeper:

- The PERFORM macros and the X/Y pad are no longer capped at a handful of targets. Each can now drive as many parameters as you like, and the target lists scroll.

More control over rate and stereo:

- A free-vs-clocked toggle on many effects' RATE (CIRCUIT BEND, SIEVE, CRYSTAL, CHORUS, FLANGER, PHASER, SPIRAL and CLANG): run the LFO/rate free in Hz or ms, or sync it to the host tempo as note divisions.

- A stereo-link "=" toggle on SPIRAL (L/R RATE) and FREQ SHIFT (L/R SHIFT) that ties the two sides together.

Plus:

- THERAPEUTIC FIASCO, a new factory preset collection (27 presets), shown
first in the preset menu. The factory bank now holds 137 presets.

- Linux support: a Linux VST3

- Smoothing on Stutter Smooth parameter goes down to 1ms (used to be 5ms due to anti clicking), moving down the parameter can cause clicking, but good for sharp transient like stutter on drums.
Thanks for another amazing update! Im gonna recommend this plugin to everyone.

And also having dotted/triplet values in the LFOs would be very good.

The update looks amazing. Are all effects and LFOs tempo-locked? I couldn't find any option to switch to Hz/Free.

EDIT: I noticed the little white dots in the rate box on some FX when I played with it a little before work. I will have to look again at the LFOS

Jamming around with a custom preset in Tape Fiasco 2. This thing is wild and highly addictive...

Amazing update, this thing is getting better and better.

I’m struggling with a simple thing I haven’t seen explained in the manual, though. When is start with an init patch and activate the stutter sequencer, no matter where i place the sequencer steps, the part of the buffer that gets repeated is always the first chunk of the pattern and not the part I want to stutter. I.e. the snare on 1.3, where I’ve placed the sequencer step. But it keeps using the kick, which lives on 1.0, for my amazing snare rolls.

How do I tell Stutter to grab a fresh slice? Playing around with CAPTURE seemingly didn’t have the desired effect. Thanks.

I'll be more than happy to admit my social obtusiveness when someone can articulate how it isn't neutral. 7 likes on this response and others, yet, nothing. :hihi:

It actually is completely neutral. I do vide code. I take no offense doing when asked but simply say of course. Those who think it is offensive, perhaps, it has more to do with there own preconceptions of vibe coding itself, just sayin.

Yet, this is a rad plug for sure, definetely don't want to derail his thread, so unless someone can articulate it, briefly, hoping you guys to stroll past this one.

morphex gets it :tu:

I believe that you didn't mean any offense. I think a large group of people views vibe-coding as a vehicle for churning out low-effort slop.

Personally, I believe there is probably a spectrum of motives in using it, from experienced programmers using it to augment their workflow to clueless people that just want to cobble together something to make a buck.
