These don't sound absolutely identical to their vintage counterparts due to reasons, but you can use that as a baseline.

The rest is all about digital control and the ungodly amount of perverse details Alesis went to (for example, oscillators have coarse tuning in semitones, fine in cents, and superfine in millicents, there's both linear and exponential FM of pitch and also audio rate modulation of pulsewidth. There's a post-filter mixer where you can bring the sine of both oscillators and ringmod after the filter. Envelopes have a ridiculous amount of curve options for an analog synth. Stuff like that.)

Realistically, all of these features are found in Tranzistow one way or another. While it's not a direct emulation, feature set of Tranzistow was absolutely inspired by Andromeda among other synths (HrastProgrammer owns two Andromedas).
Well, I do own Tranzistow do maybe I need to start diving into it more.

Honestly, I’m surprised that Arturia hasn’t done an A6 emulation. Their MO seems to be to make it look like the original and, to use an old cliche, sound close enough for rock-n-roll.

I thought the same. Feels like a perfect match.

I might be talking from my bottom now, but wasn't the Fxpansion DCAM Cypher supposed to be inspired by the A6?

Is there anything that even sounds close to this and can come close to doing what it can do? I can't think of anything I own and I own practically everything.
A long time ago someone here... I think here, posted FXpansion's Cypher doing a pretty damn good A6 impression, if memory serves.

I can't really say I've ever been in the room with an A6, though I was always a fan of the demos. Too afraid to spend that kind of money on something with a fairly poor longevity track record.

When the A6 first came out, I saw one at my local dealer and honestly thought it looked like a toy. Later, I heard someone playing one right next to me, and I have to admit I really didn't like the sound. To my ears, it sounded terrible. There wasn't a single sound I could imagine using in my own productions. Ever since then, I've had no interest in it, and that hasn't changed.

For me, the A6 is like the Fizmo—you either love it or you just don't get excited about it.

That's just my personal opinion, of course.

It absolutely doesn't sound terrible. But it is complex. Disabling background tuning makes it alive.

Looks like XILS could make that GUI look right. I think Xils Poly KB can sound a bit like this.It has that Gigantalog sound of good poly synths.Of course it cannot be identical and it very obviously will not have presets identical.

I am not sure it sounds that special really, not like that is totally like nothing ever heard before.
