Cool post, NWSM, really enjoyed it. Yeah, u-he is cool, setting a nice example I think, for others.
I have nagged Jo at MuTools to make it NATIVE on Linux. I think it would pay off...well the extra work...might take awhile though!!!
Linux is really emerging, but there are way too many distros, I can see that now.
On one hand, the variety is appealing, but then it becomes overwhelming, like synthesizer patches!
It needs to be more streamlined, and ongoing hardware progress. (drivers?)

MuLab 11 natively Linux would be beyond wild!

Me actually also had a short convo with Jo about LINUX a while back. Definitely possible sooner or later, I would say. Yet, also no newer info about anything, so that was nice to read indeed.

I would like to assist as well!
He really should go for it, we will see! Gotta focus on the basics, I think, as there are just too many "distros", so to speak...it becomes confusing.
How about a scenario where MuLab is built for a certain type of core Linux system, and just maintain/ focus on that!
Also, consider what u-he and other progressive devs are doin'.

Most developers, like Kazrog, Ohlhorst (TDR), Audio Damage and a few more are just using Ubuntu.
@audiojunkie is a bit deeper into this stuff and often provided more in depth solutions.
Yet, also obvious that developers should and cannot provide testing and support for every Distro around.

Probably > 5000 native Linux Plugins installed on my Laptop.
Many screamin Linux not as base for a DAW because too less native Plugins,...don't believe it.
Beside, its not about quantity - it is about quality.
My ideas for new Linux musicians:
install Artix Linux, install pro-audio and it is a stable setup.
No paied Plugins, no commercial stuff, no AI slop
