I can’t stand that dude.. it’s one more White Sea / snake oil wannabe channel with the peppy attitude of an Aussie (which does entertain, no critique on that front). Totally oblivious to obvious things. Absolutely clueless with others and supremely judgmental on occasion.

This is a plugin I’m willing to bet will be one for the ages and those who know, know. If it was wrapped in a hardware shell and cost 12.000€ and was blessed by mr Weiss or mr Massenburg, it’d be hailed as the most pristine and the best EQ in the world. Unironically, it’s exactly what it is. I am absolutely gobsmacked that not more people can hear this.

Even in the above YouTube video, here on vacation, listening on a pair of mediocre Bose headphones you can clearly hear just how elegantly and effortlessly the tonality is changed by the Iron Glass EQ. “.. I could duplicate it with pro-q4.. “. Absolute complete bollocks! Turn off the tube and iron, push hard into the EQ, boost something stupid like 12db at 3kHz. Now match those curves in pro-q4, compare and cry..

That last paragraph made me lose it a bit

Could you post that last paragraph in the comments of the video? I’m not kidding

I honestly think he’s way too easy going on their plugin reviews. He tends to glaze every plugin. That said, he’s not wrong on the controls for M/S. That seems annoying to me.

No. I disagree. The UI is superb and usability almost perfect. The only thing I wish is that when in unlinked left/right or m/s mode, the left button drag would control Left and right button drag would control Right.. then shift+left would move the whole thing and keep relative differences. So basically switching around the way the shift button currently works in unlinked mode. Maybe this could be added as a menu toggle/option in some future possible update? Tho it’s such a small thing that it’s probably not even worth implementing.

In short: usability of the plugin is the exact opposite of annoying. It’s one of the easiest to work with plugin EQs available in my opinion.

A lot of people like this workflow, as do I, but I get it’s a bit unconventional if you aren’t used to it. Once you do though, it’s much faster than having a copy of the interface for each channel.

I have an update dropping tomorrow with quite few tweaks, new features, and a couple minor bug fixes so be on the lookout for it. I’ll make a post here when it’s live!

I kind of agree it would be nicer when unlinked if the left click controlled one value and right click the other. That way you could manipulate each value with one hand. As it is now you need two hands to change the Mid value and one hand to change the Side value, which is a bit clunky. Not the end of the world, but it would be a faster workflow.

I totally get that, but on the other hand most people are used to left click controlling the band. That might be even more jarring if it only controls the left/mid channel.

I think long term I will probably have some sort of user mappable settings so everyone can decide how it could best work for them.

A config would be great, everybody wins!
