I mean, these 4 are pretty much all I'm using now anyway. I can definitely make due with 8 software synths with ease.

While I have like a dozen or so VST's, at the end of the day I always launch the same two, namely Xpand for samples and Retrologue 2. The latter is so much better than its reputation. Nobody ever mentions it. But I think it is awesome, extremely versatile in terms of sounds, for an analog-type synth. And the sound quality is also pretty good. I don't really hear much of a difference between it and much more recent synths.
