I think a lot of synths superseded z3ta by now. That said, the waveshaping was an interesting concept, which some of the modern synths should have picked up. Most do wavetables instead.
Shame that Cakewalk didn't vamp it up more with Z3TA 2. Missed opportunity IMO.

The effects version of Z3ta+ is very useful, lots of fun and easy to use for guitar sessions.

Don't think you can, you need a serial from Cakewalk. The DVD was just the installer, iirccarrieres wrote: Mon Jun 29, 2026 8:25 pm Computer Music is part of my musical life, I have the DVD but I never opened it
I don't know if you can install it, I will test and come back to you

didn't Cakewalk have a system which needed a registration code too? Vaguely remember not being able to reinstall DimensionPro after many years as the reg code I had from them was invalid..?

I know when I reinstall X3 it has reg codes I need to use, and for Rapture and DimPro. But I don’t remember it asking for Z3ta+.

My copy of Z3ta+ came from rgc:audio, but I ended up with a Cakewalk account once things were sold to them. It has a serial number that needs to be entered on installation

FWIW, if you had old Cakewalk stuff registered, its (almost?) all on the legacy site, with any serial numbers you have...

Actually has a serial printed on the back of the DVD cover. I remember there was an issue with Beat magazine, when they distributed it on their mag DVD, but, I think that you had to inquire for a serial with that one (which wasn't possible anymore after a while, as they "ran out of serials"), which is probably not necessary with the CM one.
I don't remember it now. Maybe someone owning the CM DVD can try it out.
