You know the whole concept of freeing through technology us from rigmorale and tedious tasks, not from the creative process?
What do you think: Which DAW will the safest to resist all of this AI nonsense creeping slowly in?

I'm not necessarily anti anything AI, I'm anti AI used to write music. So IMO what Vienna Ensemble Pro did recently is a logical and useful way to use AI, it's used to create VEP racks of instruments etc. Say creating a large Opus set based on the keyswitching version of every EWHO instrument plus a vanilla sustain instrument etc.

Ardour source code would beg to differ
https://github.com/Ardour/ardour/tree/m ... s/mcp_http
but... this is an optional connection to let it be controlled by an agent.

Justin Frankel tried using AI to update the ffmpeg bindings in REAPER and came away not a fan, even though it sort of worked at first: https://justinfrankel.org/?article=931 He's also ideologically opposed to it, not just pragmatically, so I think REAPER is a strong contender for resisting AI creep.

Still no problem with doing what i talked about regarding futureproof backups.Zeisner wrote: Mon Jun 29, 2026 9:07 pmUnfortunately I didn't buy lots of hardware to be used with older operating systems and drivers so this is not an option for me. And used hardware is not an option either. This once killed years of my work, thanks to a mainboard that came infected with malware. At some point I will simply have to stop making music.D-Fusion wrote: Sun Jun 28, 2026 7:24 pm Yes it will if you install a Operating system version from before the online purge happens.
I started with Linux as option 2 but I found some issues because everything doesn't work 100% when using Wine + Yabridge so i went for Dual Windows 11 instead.
1 Partition with Windows 11 Home (Offline), With all the programs i use and drivers and one Partition with Windows 11 Pro with everything i use installed that i use as a online OS that i have also made a System image backup of incase a windows update breaks something.
Both Windows versions are installed with a local account and is not signed in to Microsoft because if you sign in to your Microsoft account in windows it will check every 6 to 12 Months and renew your License and if you are offline when it does that your next reboot will say that your Windows version is not Activated and you are forced to go online to renew the signed in license.
