I must admit I've never tried Phosycon as I've always used ABL, but if they're both considered very good emulations then surely there can't be a huge difference in sound between the two? I know the obvious would be to demo phosycon but just curious to hear what others think?

I find with 303 vsts a lot of the core sound deficiencies are masked with layers of effects, so whenever I try them out I always remove all effects and see how close they are to what I remember from the late 80s. I remember trying that with Acid V, absolutely nothing like the original sound. Phoscyon 2 to me is as close as it gets so I went with that, plus the extra features are very good.grandmasterbird wrote: Tue Jun 30, 2026 11:26 am I must admit I've never tried Phosycon as I've always used ABL, but if they're both considered very good emulations then surely there can't be a huge difference in sound between the two? To add, I found ABL without effects lacking the necessary girth to be an authentic 303 emulation, just sounded a touch flat and lacking oomph, but to be fair it's now a comparison with a 10 year old vst to something much more recent. But horses for courses.
