You can also just press the buttons at the top which say "1 c", 2 c#" to preview the sounds.james_laverc wrote: Tue Jun 30, 2026 11:16 amI've been using Microtonic lately, and I'm really enjoying the sound quality. However, there's one thing that's slowing down my workflow: as far as I can tell, there's no obvious way to simply click on a drum channel (kick, snare, hi-hat, etc.) and audition that individual sound instantly while trying to create a beat... or am I missing something?ThoughtExperiment wrote: Fri Jun 12, 2026 10:38 am Sonic Charge Microtonic is pretty old now, but it's still unbeatable for synthetic drums. There's even a bank of simulated classic drum machines included. Certainly worth checking out IMO.
I use FL Studio, and the only way I`ve found out to hear the sounds so far is by pressing its Play buttom (which plays drumbeats in loop) or through the Piano roll.
Ah, now I see my mistake. I once tried to press those top buttoms, but now I realize you have to press each twice to make them produce a sound.
Thanx, you saved the day.

Two things: FM drums are easy to make with free VSTs; use samples in FPC and put a bit reducer on the channel- change settings as desiredjames_laverc wrote: Fri Jun 12, 2026 6:06 am Hi. I use FL Studio, and I'm looking for a drum kit with a very synthetic sound — as "artificial" as drums could sound in the 1980s. If there is something like that among FL Studio's native plugins, that would be great, but I'm also open to third-party plugins.
I know the classic drum machines like the 808, and all that stuff, but I`m looking for something beyond that, so to speak.
Any suggestions? Thanx in advance.
I also have FM drums with the digital OSC in my Prologue, but that is not what you asked
