i think the name is good.. don’t really care though. i mean.. it suits the many effects on offer. tape was a multi effect (delay, flange) and also rearranger.. people used to cut up tapes and put them in different order all the time or combine different takes etc..
i don’t think a plug in name has to be so literal. just fitting well enough so people remember it. tape fiasco is already well known. fiasco is a good word. i like it.. also, no one else is using it so.. might as well hold on to it.

Tape Fiasco makes sense to me, it messes up what is recorded into the buffer, I think tape doesn’t just mean tape fx like saturation but more the idea of recording and adding to cut up techniques

I had several tape fiascos when I grew, for example my He-man Master of the Universe booklet cassette which had an unfortunate meeting with a magnet, but if this can achieve same kind of noise changing the name fits

This plugin is masterful. Why am I only hearing about it now? Why don't you people tell me these things?!

These are all feasible and fun additions! I'll save these to the list. The heavy one is the portrait GUI and might come a bit later. Thank you!pabloaldunate wrote: Wed Jul 01, 2026 5:23 pm Pleaaase!

Ok boys and girls next update is going to be a complete banger:
- Update Tape Fiasco directly from the plugin, no more Lemon Squeezy links, no more friction.
- Clocked vs Free LFO's.
- Modulate the modulators!
- Brutal Multiband Compressor.
- Granular Pitch Sifter.
- Noise Gate.
- Notch Filter.
- Route Stretch, Stutter, Varispeed from FX page - This one opens up a lot of possibilities in terms of shaping your sound.
- New Granular TIME engine (Scatter from Modular Fiasco)! (big change, not yet fully implemented).
- And more.
So far the updates has been released once a week, but this one will take a couple of weeks more until release. The reason being is the added Notch filter and routing of Time effects are messing with user presets. The idea I'm having is to release a bigger update in form of a new Tape Fiasco (yes its still called Tape Fiasco lol) 2.1 plugin instance, this way your saved presets will still work from the previous version and also have access to the newer features. The coming update will also include the New granular Time engine which most likely interfere with user presets as well, so it makes sense to release all together in a bigger release all at once.
