Synth Anthology vs Vintage Vault, what's the real difference?

Post

SA has a big range of synths with a few patches each. VV is much bigger but with a smaller collection of synths that each contain many more sampled patches.

I love Falcon - really amazing synth. What would SA give you that Arturia V Collection doesn’t? Just curious what the main differences are.

And I know Cherry and many others are doing emulations but there aren’t too many big collections (Korg and Roland too I guess) that are like this.

Are the new Casios part of it now?

SA5 is sample-based, it's not emulations. As to what it would give that V Collection doesn't? About 260 more instruments for one. But again they're not modeled as in V Collection.

I don't know enough about Casio's to know what the new ones are but these are the 2 Casio's that were added to V5:

CT S1000V
HT6000

I meant new released VST, I understand the confusion

How many multisamples per instrument?
Can it be browsed by instrument? I.e. see all samples from JD800?

not sure about the amount (if you have Falcon you can do whatever you want. The key ranges and velo-ranges are quite extensive), but no, you cannot browse osc's by machine. You can browse osc's by type. And you cán browse presets by machine

This is in no way comparable to Arturia V Collection. If you want an emulation of a certain synth, you should not look at this. Synth anthology is always more like a workstation that has loads of high quality synth samples. And of course integration in Falcon (albeit a little cumbersome) gives you a universe of a playground for mangling those samples.

Synth Anthology is also dual layer. You combine two different sampled synths to create a new synth sound, essentially. They have a machine learning algorithm that helps you select samples that are compatible with each other. Nice effect section as well.

true..+ with Falcon you can go inside the instrument and change whatever one wants. It is not locked, which is nice. the 2 new Filters are pretty good too
