The plan is to start shipping in October, as indicated on the Kickstarter page. I've also just recently sent out a slightly more detailed update to backers. You should have gotten it, maybe check your spam or drop me an email if you haven't. Also, if you give me your name (via PM or email) I can tell you how far up the queue you are.

Interesting piece of kit, but that price tag is definitely going to be a sticking point for many. I get that the component quality and assembly costs are high, especially if it's built in Germany, but it puts it in a completely different bracket compared to similar offerings from other brands. My biggest question: is there any chance of a DIY kit down the line? I know that's been done for some of their previous modules, and it would make the entry much more accessible. On the flip side, if the build is too complex, offering a kit might just flood support with troubleshooting requests – so I can see why they might avoid it. Also, I'd love to hear from early adopters about the preset management. I've read that it can save patches and sequences, but is the workflow intuitive for live jamming, or does it require menu diving? Finally, how does it stack up against the competition in the same price range? I'm thinking of the usual suspects from Moog, Sequential, or even the high-end Eurorack oscillators. If the sound character is truly unique, it might justify the cost, but I'll wait for more demos before I even consider selling my other gear.

My first thought was that it sat in the territory of other fairly 'one off' boutique/niche instruments, immediately thinking of the Elta Music Solar 42N, but also things like the Erica Synths Steampipe, Soma Flux, Whimsical Raps Atrium. Stuff that's a bit niche, where it becomes a focussed centrepiece/main instrument, something to 'master'.

There won't be a DIY kit for several reasons, mainly because it would just invite trouble. It's a very complex build, and few people would be prepared for that. There's also not exactly a huge market for kits that size.

As for the price point, I don't want to argue: It's the absolute cheapest we can sell it at while still making it worthwhile for the company. Frankly, it almost hurts with current component prices, taxes and operating costs, and the price will surely have to increase in the future. If it's too high for your taste, I'll accept that of course. It won't be for everyone.

But you speak of similar offerings, and I'm wondering what exactly you're comparing it to?

The only thing that sort of compares in functionality would be the Solar 42, which costs more, even though it's made in Latvia. (No shade on Latvia of course, just indicating it's cheaper to build there.)

Other synths in about the same package size, but not necessarily in the drone synth category, would be the Syntrx II (more expensive), or the Cric (much more expensive).

So I don't understand quite how you come to the conclusion that the Queen Elmyra price is high. Are you comparing it to the Lyra-8 by any chance? If so, you may want to have a closer look at functionality, especially modulation options, which are worlds apart in scope between the two, and costly to implement.

ah cool ill check my email, october onwards is great! that's when all my family birthdays start and xmas, i have two granddaughters who both have birthdays a day apart end of october, so my funds for buying new stuff die off a bit, but this is already paid for so won't kill my budgets 😂

not too worried how far down a queue i am, it comes when it comes, just hope i don't get one that compares to a moog :o

Well, there is a ladder filter emulation on board, in fact 8 of them, but I can assure you that's where the similarities end. :p
