Is SA more comparable to ReFX Nexus?abi wrote: Fri Jul 03, 2026 12:01 pm This is in no way comparable to Arturia V Collection. If you want an emulation of a certain synth, you should not look at this. Synth anthology is always more like a workstation that has loads of high quality synth samples. And of course integration in Falcon (albeit a little cumbersome) gives you a universe of a playground for mangling those samples.

I think of it as sort of a IK Syntronik type of deal.billinder33 wrote: Fri Jul 03, 2026 2:04 pmIs SA more comparable to ReFX Nexus?abi wrote: Fri Jul 03, 2026 12:01 pm This is in no way comparable to Arturia V Collection. If you want an emulation of a certain synth, you should not look at this. Can’t say because I never used Nexus.billinder33 wrote: Fri Jul 03, 2026 2:04 pmIs SA more comparable to ReFX Nexus?abi wrote: Fri Jul 03, 2026 12:01 pm This is in no way comparable to Arturia V Collection. If you want an emulation of a certain synth, you should not look at this. I would say that Vintage Vault is “UVIs Syntronik” and is also more convincing. SA comes with smaller sample sets but with a nice selection of effects and filters and a convincing concept. I own all of them although Syntronik is not installed as I never used it. I don’t think that I would update Vintage Vault (except there comes an update of SonicBundle), but I always update SA. To me SA feels like an instrument and somehow ergonomic to use. The update prices seem also fair for what you get.Examigan wrote: Fri Jul 03, 2026 3:48 pmI think of it as sort of a IK Syntronik type of deal.billinder33 wrote: Fri Jul 03, 2026 2:04 pmIs SA more comparable to ReFX Nexus?abi wrote: Fri Jul 03, 2026 12:01 pm This is in no way comparable to Arturia V Collection. If you want an emulation of a certain synth, you should not look at this. There should be a way to upgrade from Synth Anthology 4 to 5 in a way that Synth Anthology 4 does not show up in your library again (either on iLok or on UVI user page). Secondly if you used SA4 in a project and you open it, it should automatically open with SA5. According to Google this is not the case and right now you have to have both installed.
if i have synth anthology 5 can i delete synth anthology 4?
No, you should not delete Synth Anthology 4.
UVI releases new versions as completely new soundbank files rather than overwriting the old ones. Keeping Synth Anthology 4 ensures backward compatibility so your older projects and sessions using SA4 presets will still load correctly without missing instruments.
This is bad IMHO

That is actually the best way to do it. This allows UVI to focus on new features without worry about breaking any backwards capabilities, it essentially is allowing them to start with a clean slatemambo888 wrote: Sat Jul 04, 2026 1:38 pm There should be a way to upgrade from Synth Anthology 4 to 5 in a way that Synth Anthology 4 does not show up in your library again (either on iLok or on UVI user page). Meanwhile any projects with version 4 will continue to work exactly as they always have

It's better than for example the upgrade from Omnisphere 2 to 3 where they claim it's backwards compatible but the presets sound different at times. You always have the option to install 4 again if you need to dig into older projects and it will be the same as you saved it. Hell I even have 2 installed still.mambo888 wrote: Sat Jul 04, 2026 1:38 pm There should be a way to upgrade from Synth Anthology 4 to 5 in a way that Synth Anthology 4 does not show up in your library again (either on iLok or on UVI user page). The previous version supported NKS. Can anyone confirm if this version still does?
Thanks

so you relate "static" with "Taste, flavor, style, seasoning". strange.PointOfDeparture wrote: Sat Jul 04, 2026 5:34 pmTaste, flavor, style, seasoningnirm123 wrote: Sat Jul 04, 2026 3:25 pm When there are so many amazing emulations, what would anyone use static samples?
