I see a lot of buzz on YouTube about this but is it all hype? Seems interesting but also expensive, even for the pre release. Anyone using it? How complete/incomplete is it?

I have MNodes and after looking at the information available about Msh, it seems to me that MNodes has orders of magnitude more capability for about half the price. I have no opinion on the developer, I'm sure they're fine, but I know firsthand that Mario is super interactive with people on the MNodes forum and has been pumping out updates like a man possessed.

There is this one as well: https://www.phasetape.com
The dev put it on hold for a while as they were going to launch just at the point that Mike, the Msh dev, handed out some betas to various YouToobers and started the preorder/paid-beta programme.
Modus seems to be more like MNodes in that it's a bit more MIDI/control-oriented whereas Msh feels more like it's really for sound design – though some of that might come from who got the early access on the YT circuit, as it's been a bit like a competition for the gnarliest Reese. I haven't got Mnodes yet, but that feels like it's possibly going to have the better set up for playing things with the choice over MIDI and CV processing.
One thing that Msh has going for it, which might not matter in a lot of situations, is that it's quick to load patches. I think for post-production sound design that could be very effective where you've got a lot of fiddly complex jobs to do one by one, but obviously not all that important compared with the others for where you're performing with what's in the meshes. They're also a bit light in modules that adapt to performance data – lots of emphasis on arps and sequencers, but I'd like to see some slightly more advanced maths modules like integrators, integrate-and-fire (though I think Mnodes has a threshold trigger) and differentiators as well as more audio analysis->modulation functions.

Msh (autocorrect keeps changing it to 'Meh' which is amusing) also has audio rate modulation. Nodus has CLAP support though, which is cool. MNodes looks more like a plugin development environment, almost like Synthedit, but with an emphasis on performance tools. Probably deeper than the others but also to me looks more complicated to learnGamma-UT wrote: Sun Jul 05, 2026 1:52 pm There is this one as well: https://www.phasetape.com

This is one reason why the gnarly-Reese brigade likes it. Not complaining, mind.aMUSEd wrote: Sun Jul 05, 2026 1:56 pm Msh (autocorrect keeps changing it to 'Meh' which is amusing) also has audio rate modulation.

Seems like a waste of a great feature to me
