I have been using Borisfx for over 20 years. Stuff I bought back then still works on an older i7 2012 Mac mini.

The news article suggests they already sold off their other acquisitions as well? I must have missed that.

iZotope RX is the only thing I use from them, but it's really great at what it does. I don't care too much about the suite of plugins. As long as they keep RX chugging along, I'll be happy.
(I had been hoping Acon Digital Acoustica would catch up to RX eventually for spectral editing, but its development seems to have stalled out in favor of a bunch of stem separation and isolation plugins. I wish they had gotten far enough to give it spectral soft selection. Alas.)

i thought that... at first. now i revel in the idea that i have a project set to the tempo of my mix (in case i want to do an edit, or automate the level), that i can keep my mastering settings but, for example, swap out a mix where i've turned up the bass a hair, or fixed a vocal note. am ultimately finding it easy to navigate, and enjoying having more options.EyeCloud wrote: Sat Jul 04, 2026 3:28 pm I’m onboard if they return Ozone to standalone app format. Dropping the standalone format is one of the most annoying things that iZotope did.

I elected not to update any of my NI/iZotope products due to the poor implementation of NA, and a host of other reasons.

Boris came into Samplitude 2025 with some higher than expected upgrade pricing. But they quickly brought bugfixes and substantial performance improvements. I had a need for tech support during that first week, and they were on top of it. Seemed like things were off to a good start. Since then, seems like things have slowed down a bit.
They did listen to the user base poll and re-integrated CD burning within the app fairly quickly as well. Don't know where it's going, but Samplitude 2026 is an excellent DAW that needs some basic gui/appearance updates and some deeper forward thinking strategy. Hopefully Boris will get it right by the 2027 release or else I think a lot of the user base will begin to grumble.

Thanks for the optimistic take. We could certainly use more of that round these parts.Seaside Music wrote: Sun Jul 05, 2026 2:06 am Boris came into Samplitude 2025 with some higher than expected upgrade pricing.
