I was rude. I sincerely apologise, that was uncalled for.S1gnsOfL1fe wrote: Fri Jul 03, 2026 6:28 amI appreciate you guys coming to my defense here.DJDJ wrote: Fri Jul 03, 2026 3:22 am The skepticism never ceases to amaze meCash grab? It's $29! He'll sell....how many? I'd be surprised if he's sold over 500 of any of his plugins so far. He also gives away free plugins as well, which are great.
This is hardly "the man" exploiting poor little old musicians with an overpriced piece of software.
I don’t really feel the need to respond directly to the personal angle of that statement. As the saying goes, “Your silence can never be misquoted.”
I’ve been making ambient music for nearly 15 years, and like most people here, I’ve used a ridiculous number of plugins, made plenty of bad tracks with them, learned from all of it, and kept going.
Being able to build my own plugins now doesn’t change who I am or what I care about. My goal is the same as it’s always been: to make useful creative tools, support the people using them, and share what I’ve learned in a way that helps others make better music.

Hey, I think the way that you apologized was genuine, and it was a very mature thing to do. You deserve some respect for that, seriously. It’s rare for someone to apologize so publicly on KVR. I think egos and pride tend to get in the way most of the time.swilow11 wrote: Sat Jul 04, 2026 9:16 pmI was rude. I’m the one who started this thread, and I thought that it was unfortunate the way that negativity and personal digs had crept into the discussion.
But I also understand the sentiment, especially with so many vibe-coded plugins flooding the market. It’s a lot to sort through if you’re looking for something new or specific.
It’s only natural to become cynical, when so many of those plugins end up being absolute trash. So I agree with you that many of them look like total cash grabs. Just remember that looks can be deceiving.
Also, there are some people who have nothing but the BEST possible intentions. Chris Bryant has proven to me, over a couple of years now, that he belongs in THAT group.
Granted, he’s considered an “influencer,” and that tends to ruffle some people’s feathers for whatever reason. But that’s only a small part of what he does.
Besides, he’s honest, hardworking, and thoroughly dedicated to his students and clients. And he’s earned a great reputation by sticking to those principles without compromises.
His software will have issues, but his VST’s will continue to get better with time. I trust him, and that’s why I made posts about his software releases to begin with.
I hope that eventually your experience will be similar to mine, and that you’ll feel like you got your money’s worth. Cheers!

Having known S1gns online for years, from way back in the ambientonline forum days, I think he is a good example of how the modern artist has to diversify their income stream to retain a viable income. Doing that in no way necessarily invalidates any artistic and personal integrity and I dont think it has with him. As far as I can tell ambientonline showed he is a community builder rather than an exploiter and I haven't seen anything to make me think he has changed.

If he does continue down the "vibe coding" route I hope he considers having at least a couple beta testers to run ideas and builds against. There are a few head-scratchers with 1.0 that shouldn't have made it out of beta (no master volume!)

He isn't going down the "vibe coding" route. Did you not read his replies in this thread? Or are you intentionally ignoring what he said just so you can continue ranting about the lack of a Master Volume knob?If he does continue down the "vibe coding" route

excuse me? He said he used agentic coding in the development. Is that not what we're talking about here? Maybe I'm being too loose with the definition of vibe coding. Whatever, it doesn't matter. I'm on his side! I have no problem with how the plugin was built or the dev in general. And I'm hardly ranting about master volume. I mentioned it once before. Big deal. Take your righteous indignation and apply it elsewhere thank you.Chicken Drummy wrote: Sun Jul 05, 2026 2:44 amHe isn't going down the "vibe coding" route. I could live with no master volume for the time being. It's not for me a deal-breaker. As for vibe coding, there are levels of this, even good programmers use Claude to figure out tough coding issues. Also, not everyone is a trainer programmer in the audio sw industry (such as u-he).
