Another thing that helps greatly against hijackers is to disable the Microsoft Java VM and download the Sun one.

Is that what it is? Trendy? I didn't like it, and kept getting pissed off at things that I expect from IE wasn't there (Google toolbar with autofill, float over a picture and see the link down below, etc.) Oh well. I uninstalled it.mauseoleum wrote:don't get Firefox.

go there and try some of the online AV scans that this forum suggests... I'd recommend with the TrendMicro Housecall for starters..
I know it found a couple trojans on my system that AVG, adaware, and spybot didnt pickup on..

is it a matter of simply putting the windows dir on CD?
