Would you claim copyright over a recipe that was thought of by CGPT and assembled by a smart cooking doobris, just because you happened to do the shopping?

And yes, if you rip one of my tracks I will contact legal department of Suno. And if you place it on Soundcloud to make a point I will contact Soundcloud.el-bo (formerly ebow) wrote: Tue Jul 07, 2026 8:41 am Would you claim copyright over a recipe that was thought of by CGPT and assembled by a smart cooking doobris, just because you happened to do the shopping?
Remember, you all can talk as much as you want but I am 1: owner of the lyrics, 2: owner of the song and 3: owner of the master.
So if you think ownership does not mean anything, thats fine with me. But if you are not the owner of these things, you stole from someone.
Does not matter what technical words you use: you stole.
Thats very low in the first place, but I am sure I can take it further then.
Ownership still means something. Maybe not to you guys, but you were the ones complaining how Suno ripped others.
Now it seems ownership does not matter to you all at all.
But who am I fooling, you aint gonna rip my songs because they are ai slop. Remember?

No copright protection, I.e you need to trademark it, doable, but it's per each country in the world, cost a fortune, go for it! I.e. similar to material that is no longer copyright protected, like old Agatha Christie books...
PS: I forgot, you need redo the trademark periodically, for what is is, consult the trademark laws for each country.

Yeah but I have created lyrics and now I am gonna create style inputs to with chatgpt so your Suno things do not matter, it has EXTERNAL inputs.
Still I am the owner. Of everything. Apparently that does not seem to matter. Yeah well I believe it does.

If you wrote the lyrics for your song(s), you own those lyrics(as I said: lyrics written with chatgpt are owned by you?). Most copyright offices will allow you to register those lyrics on their own, and you may be able to use those lyrics to register your whole song as well. Some regions/registrars may recognize you as the writer of the song and Suno as an instrument to help you create the song. If this happens, the song will likely be eligible for copyright protection.
In any case, if you made songs while subscribed to Pro or Premier, you should be the only person that is allowed to monetize those songs through distribution or other channels. Some distributors exclude songs that are not eligible for copyright protection, so it may be helpful to research several options, and as always, read the terms and conditions!

I thought we might be able to have a calm discussion about this, but perhaps not.The King of the Sofa wrote: Tue Jul 07, 2026 8:45 amI do not care, I am the owner. Look you all should "fear" ai use less. Think about how it was when synths came out. Remember how they treathed them? It was not music. It was not live played, it were not real instruments. I am sure you all remember that.
Well they did that because they were afraid that they would lose their job. It did not happen. Synths just found its place and lived among live recordings and instruments.
Same is gonna happen with ai. It is not gonna replace you. It is just gonna find its place and thats it.

I really fail to see what people get out of prompt-to-track generated AI music.
None of us will get rich making music. The whole kick I get out of it is really the process of making music itself, and maybe a kind word from internet think-alikes here and there.
Even the latter is meaningless if it wasn't me who put the work in to move the piece into existence.

I just like the musicgearwatcher wrote: Tue Jul 07, 2026 12:49 pm I really fail to see what people get out of prompt-to-track generated AI music.

Thats really enough for me. I understand you all can not understand that but for me music is about the music itself and what it does. The story it tells. The sound it has.
For some people, like you apparantly, music is about working. And making everything yourself.
In my opinion that has nothing to do with music but with ego, but we all have our own thoughts about what music is.
So yeah, for me it is just something I can spend time on. I like the results and I think they sound nice enough. I am happy with them.
And in the end that is what music is about, make us happy, make us feel better when we are down.
But I understand you think of work instead. Thats okay, if that makes you happy then its okay.
I aint even in this to make money or become famous. I just like the music.
And I can say it a thousand times but you all keep on saying otherwise, but I do put some work in, I always have an idea and I work that out. For some songs, the story ones, I sometimes let chatgpt first write a short story about the idea I have, and which I get out of reading books and comics and then I make a short summary without telling to much about that short story and let chatgpt create lyrics based on that.
Yes my work is minimal, but it is not something that is done by just pressing a button, it comes from an idea of mine.
So I am proud about those ideas. But I guess they mean nothing to you, but your music also always starts with an idea first.
But apparantly that does not mean anything. Okay, we have to dissagree on that, it shapes the lyrics completely and so the feel of the track. Putting the right genre with it also does a lot.
Then I also master it, but I admit of using ai of ozone, I am sure some of you do that too, but thats okay, even though its ai, never heared anyone complain about that. Because its something that some of you do, so you have to accept it.
In the end this is just ridiculous, to bash on people who use ai and tell them they do nothing but press a button. Some might do but not everyone, there are people spending time in shaping ideas into lyrics, those lyrics into a song, and even that song in a produced product with mastering it.
I understand that it is way to early to be accepted as doing some work, so thats okay for me. I like the music I make and that is what matters the most. And I am sure that others would like it too, if they could accept ai.
Because the fact that some people do not like the music made with ai, has nothing to do with the musical piece itself, but with the fact that it is made with ai.
Which automaticly results in hating the product. It has nothing to do with the song itself, but with the fact ai is used.
Well then I do not like any of your music, because you just press buttons on a keyboard, learn to play live instruments and make something with that. Because I do not like synths, therefor I do not like the music made with it.
Seems we go back 40 years or so by saying that. Guess the roles are turned now and its ai who is the bad guy.

Work is what I do on my day job.
Music making is what I choose to do in any free time I have.
Why would I choose to outsource that?
It's like you like idea of hiking but not really being outdoors, walking on dirt roads in mountains and being a bit cold here and bit hot there, so you pay someone to hike for you.
Or you really like the idea of sex, but you can't be arsed, so you'll pay tenner to a guy to do your missus while you watch from the cuck chair.
That is how I see prompt-to-text musicing. I agree with Zeisner, you don't really like the act of making music, you'd just like the accolade from the end result with the least involvement.

I like the music yes. Go ahead insult me a bit more. If it makes you feel better thats okay for me. I will continue to create music with ai. And it is weird, I have been discussing this for a while now and nobody said it was all AI slop like you did a few months ago. Did we finally get past that? Thats nice.gearwatcher wrote: Tue Jul 07, 2026 1:22 pm Work is what I do on my day job.
