Hey KVR,

This is 4TRK, my emulation of the Tascam 424 / Portastudio cassette preamp, that elastic, saturated tape sound that turns up all over modern indie and bedroom-pop guitar. I built it because I kept reaching for a real 424 and wanted it as a plugin I could drop on any track.

Eight controls, no menus: Magnitude (overall intensity), Warmth (tape saturation + drive), Drift (wow/flutter), Texture (noise + dropouts), Space (crosstalk/width), Age (degradation), Tone (the 1.875 / 3.75 ips tape EQ), and Width (stereo spread). 2x oversampled nonlinear stages, zero latency.

Happiest in front of an amp sim on guitar, but also great as mix glue or lo-fi character on drums, synths, or a full bus.
