I've actually been able to get pretty good results, so perhaps it's more to do with 'how" people are using it. If they are using the "assistant" mode, it would explain alot.jens wrote: Mon Jun 22, 2026 9:25 pmSure, but it's not really very adequate heresimon.a.billington wrote: Mon Jun 22, 2026 1:34 pm I was more more or less just paraphrasing the "garbage in, garbage out" adage
First of all time and again people say that they tend to achieve "meh"-results with Izotope stuff - and it's usually not the beginners...
and second of all much of the Izotope tech is geared specifically towards that latter group and their fairly likely less that perfect recordings.
I find that works better for sometimes of music than others, that has been getting better with Ozone and TBC3, though. Even then I would regard their assistant as a quick setup process as I can usually dial in a better sound. Which is pretty much what real assistants are like too.
So perhaps it comes down to how people are using it, or even expectations. If people expect that it will sound exactly the same as the multiple plugin process they've been using for half a decade then obviously they're already created an unreachable expectation. It will sound different, guaranteed. It's just a matter of whether you like that different sound and that's all a matter of taste.
That said, It's not that I rely on their software an awful lot. It's just one of the tools at my disposal.
