I’ve owned a couple of H9s in the past and had an H90 for about a year. I hated the UI and limited storage of the H9, but I preferred the smaller footprint and usually only used one effect slot. The H90 was better in terms of UI and storage, but I mostly just used one effects slot. The H9 Gen 2 hits the sweet spot between the two, so I’m tempted to buy one, although I’m also interested in a GFI Solis Ventus, which I’ve never owned but sounds amazing in demos.

I don’t have a goal - I’ve been a hybrid user for 20-some years and have a lot of hardware and software that I use to make a lot of music.

Yes, I'm a hybrid child too.
GFI pedals in general seem like top quality fx.
I'm slightly tempted by the Mooer Ocean Machine 2(as a hybrid child), which is a seemingly minor improvement on the org, but adds more midi control/sync among other things. For the price it seems superb.

I don't get along with modern Eventide at all. The original H3000 is The Holy Grail - the King of Kings. I bought a H9 Max some years back and it never got used. Sold it and never regretted it. I thought about it many times (especially whenever Loopop releases a new video) and I cannot put my finger on why. On paper it should be perfect.

Was it the sound, UI/workflow, or both? I actually like the sound, but not the UI/workflow. The free editor was a nice (and arguably necessary) addition, but it makes the H9 Max essentially a preset box.DrGonzo wrote: Sat Jul 04, 2026 4:53 am I bought a H9 Max some years back and it never got used. You know when you have a delay or a reverb and you can just dial in the sound you are after in just a couple of seconds and then fiddle around with the cool details? It's not that. I felt it fiddly and hard to get to where you wantedcryophonik wrote: Sat Jul 04, 2026 5:58 pmWas it the sound, UI/workflow, or both? I actually like the sound, but not the UI/workflow. I think I might have to buy a Deepmind 12X. Sale on for $1550 until end of July, that's $450 off usual. For some reason Deepmind was always off my radar and I thought it was 1 osc per voice. Discovered that's completely wrong, and...I was ready to buy the Behehringer Juno when it comes out. That seems to be priced at $1500 - whereas for $50 extra I get all the extra stuff Deepmind has crammed into it. Seems like it's got the same filters and obvs Deepmind was based on Junos.
TBH it makes no sesne to get the Juno at only 8 voices, no sync, no FX apart from the chrous (which Deepmind already has). I'd be daft not to get one instead.

I mentioned this here a few weeks ago that I found a local deal on a like-new 12D for a great price and snagged it. It's a beast of a synth, and not just for the price - it sounds great and is deeper than it appears based on its outward appearance. I won't be swapping it out for the Buhno.kritikon wrote: Fri Jul 10, 2026 5:10 am I think I might have to buy a Deepmind 12X. Sale on for $1550 until end of July, that's $450 off usual. How do you get along with the UI? I loved the sound but I felt like running through sticky mud when editing it.cryophonik wrote: Fri Jul 10, 2026 5:16 amI mentioned this here a few weeks ago that I found a local deal on a like-new 12D for a great price and snagged it. OK, went back and rechecked prices. JN80=$1599, Deepmind 12X=$1549.
That settles it. Makes no sense to buy the JN80, I must just be blinded by New Toy Syndrome. I checked out Starsky Carr's comparison of Deepmind vs Juno106 from yrs ago and Deepmind will do everything JN80 does and considerably more. And I doubt Behringer made new filter chips for the JN80, way more likely they'll use existing Deepmind chips. Any differences between Juno6 and later Junos will be oscillator-based, not filters, so Deepmind makes sense now, especially for $50 less.
I know in my heart that Junos are very limited beasts, it's all nostalgia. Deepmind has 2 LFOs + 3 envs iirc, as opposed to a meagre 1 each. Dunno why I blanked Deepminds, I'm my own worst enemy sometimes

I've always wanted one of these.

The PSU needed some work but it's in great condition.
I have a WinXP computer at work, so I should be able to get the firmware updated. With a SCSI emulator I'll be able to transfer sound files pretty easily.
I can't wait to get this hooked up with the Cirklon.

No idea, but the 'e' looks a tiny bit like 'evolution' e, but I don't think it is...
