I’m struggling to tame the tuning.
Yes some sort of conformity to a particular scale would be useful

In the tide processor (the resynthesis engine) set it to ebb mode and turn up the harmonics dial. The higher it is the more consonant it is the lower it is the more dissonant/inharmonic it becomes.

In the glade engine (granular) set the churn control to a low value so it keeps reading from a lower range of the sample.

Set the Hold time to less than infinite or else you will get overlapping parts of the recording. Also set the sustainer recording length for the same reason.

This will result in more predictable tuning

Picked this up of course, personally, I would have tried to make the ui look like you were moving up the coast, rather than having the coast actually move.

As it is, to me it looks like you’re being attacked by a giant squidbilly. Though that’s kind of cool in itself. Heh

Cool effect though.

This looks really cool, an interesting mix of functions. It goes off sale tonight. Any other first hand reports KVR?

I'd like to hear about some of their other plug ins, in particular Outgrowth. It seems like there's a bit of overlap between a few of them.

Not really, the loopers are completely different, and outgrowth is a sampler not an effect.

IMO anyway.

To a degree, there is a little bit. The design aesthetic is similar, but each one has its own vibe, and a set of features that makes them unique. I ended up buying all of their plugins in a discounted bundle after using Waymaker first.

The developer obviously understands the power of a melody, and their MIDI effects are wonderful tools to get ideas flowing quickly. I'm more of a programmer than an accomplished keyboard player. So it's these kinds of intuitive MIDI effects that help me when I want to explore complex, or generative sequences.

In fact, I get a feel that reminds me of modular gear. And that's what initially caught my attention. I'd also like to mention the dev's great communication and response to suggestions. That's something that's always been important to me. And it helps when you feel like you're paying someone who genuinely wants you to have the best possible experience with their software. Anyway, I hope my two cents helps. :tu:

Outgrowth shares some things with Coastline. They both have similar additive resynthesis and granular engines but as Pekbro pointed out Outgrowth is an instrument and coastline is an effect.

Weeping wall is a micro looper and probably the simplest of the bunch, Ridgewalk is a granular looper with overdubbing, Waymaker is a sequencer (or collection of sequencers that interact with each other), Outgrowth is a sampler and Coastline is a kind of texture generation effect that's based on whatever is happening in the input.

One cool feature of Waymaker is that it can be used to control aspects of other plugins like the pitch of the tide and glade engines in Coastline or the pitch or direction of loops in Ridgewalk.

They're all great. Aqeel is a very talented dude with a lot of good taste.

Outgrowth in particular is fantastic. One of the best samplers for getting a single sample and making something musical out of it.

Yup, can't go wrong really, imo :tu:
