Yes, another Jupiter-8 emulation, but this one's modeled on a worn-out unit (free beta)

Morphoice, first, your stuff sounds really good. I don't know how you do it, but these are great sounding plugins generally.

Checking out EightyEight, I noticed the MIDI CC Assignments are preset-based. I know some people prefer that, but I think Global is far more common. But if you have a synthesizer you use as a controller, like my System-8, it has enough parameters that map 1:1 to many software virtual analog synths, so a Global MIDI Learn/Assignment system makes far more sense.

May I suggest addressing this either one of two of ways:

1. You could make CC Assignments global. Solves my problem. However, people with limited controllers may suffer. But this is probably the most common.

2. Add a Global preference. Probably the most flexible. I assign once, those values get stored internally/externally somewhere, and I just set the Global preference. For me, CC assignments don't change. For people who want it to, they keep it off.

3. Add a MIDI CC "Lock" button. Similar to the option above, you could have an option to lock the assignments. I could create a default preset in my DAW with the assignments I like, or create my own INIT patch with those assignments, then enable the "Lock". As I change/browse/load presets, the MIDI assignment in place at the time of the lock overrides any assignment saved in the preset. TAL and a few others do this, so it's not uncommon.

Bonus points if you add the ability to import/export mappings. That way, if one does get messed up, and I need to quickly import my CC Assignments without messing up the current patch, I could.

Not a demand or anything. Just a friendly feature request that I think would benefit your entire line of plugins, and perhaps even yourself if you're a heavy user of controllers.

Thanks that worked.

Thanks for the kind words, that means a lot.
Good points, and well made. Global MIDI CC assignment (or at least a preference/lock for it) makes a lot of sense, especially for anyone driving these from a hardware controller. I'll keep it on the list.
Right now I'm building a SysEx bridge for the Super JX emulation, and there are a few things still to work out that feed into both it and EightyEight — pitch bend and MIDI learn among them. So this is very much live territory at the moment. :)

I noticed if I add a directory for my stuff in the main Browser, it won’t show up like how the others do at the bottom: Pad, Lead, etc.

On mac, when tweaking the filter, I get this crazy hi pitch noise bursts, and lose all ability to get the sound back, I have to select a patch to get rid of it.

Anyone else had this?

No noise burst on my Mac.

Please file this through the support ticket system on my website with the full details, a public forum post doesn't give me enough to track the cause down. If it's a bug it needs fixing, but I need something to work with: a recording if possible, an exact description of what you did leading up to it, and steps to reproduce.
Also worth ruling out expected behaviour first, filter self-oscillation at high resonance can sound alarming but isn't a fault.

I’ll see if I can reproduce it and send over more information.
I’m mostly an analog synth user and very familiar with self oscillation, and I’ve never heard self oscillation like this…

1. Are these synths getting patches ?
2. Is this $10 USD for the full license ?

There are presets in the synth already to demo it. More are coming once it's finished — building a whole bank against a moving target doesn't make much sense, and this is a one-person project, so things land in sequence.
The full factory bank is a lot of work and will be part of the licensed release. There'll also be additional themed preset packs available separately down the line.
And yes, as stated in the descriptions, a contribution of $10 or more grants a full license, including the factory presets once they exist.
