I'd like to recreate the bass that starts at 2:34 here:

It also starts around 0:22 but I somehow feel that it is a bit more pronounced in the later section.

I think it very similar to the bass that starts around 0:44 here:

Are these just Reese basses?

Yes

Just a simple 2 saws detuned, completely mono, set detune till the pulsing is at the right wobble frequency

It's always detuned saws through a filter, isn't it?
