I had some fun putting together a virtual museum of synthesizers.
It will, of course, be updated regularly.

Thank you for your feedback! I'd like to know more about what you saw regarding Ensoniq. I may have made a mistake. I run this site on my own. Thanks again.Watchful wrote: Tue Jul 14, 2026 11:35 am Beautiful graphics.
I don't agree with some of your descriptions of synthesis methods--particularly the Ensoniq product line--but this is a gorgeous resource. Really amazing.
I like your filters, as I can build virtual "wings" to this museum.
Nice! Thanks!pixelizer wrote: Mon Jul 13, 2026 7:49 pm Hi,

That's interesting... I didn't know any of that.Watchful wrote: Tue Jul 14, 2026 5:41 pmTotally appreciate your position, and fabulous work.pixelizer wrote: Tue Jul 14, 2026 12:43 pm Thank you for your feedback! This will probably start an argument with other Ensoniq fans, but I'd argue the VFX, VFX-SD, and SD-1 used wavetable synthesis and transwave synthesis (an early form of granular synthesis). The SD-1 couldn't do additive at all.
The Fizmo was pretty much just ROM-based transwave synthesis.
Here's where some folks might disagree!
Thank you very much for your feedback
