What are you using for a mouse?

I'm thinking there's got to be something better than the standard scoot across the table mouse for music production. Something about reaching for that mouse rubs me the wrong way.
What are you using? Trackpad? Trackball?

I had been using the same Microsoft wired compact mouse since 2008. When I got a new PC in May I decided it was time for me to go wireless (very scary indeed) and I got a Logitech M220 Silent mouse with a Logitech studio series mouse pad. It seems to be working alright but every now and then it bugs out on me and acts jittery until I switch it off and turn it back on again. MODERN TIMES.

This sounds interesting. Can you elaborate? Does it make anything in particular easier? Or make more sense?

I love this mouse:

I also use a touch-screen monitor with my desktop, which is great for real-time knob twiddling. I have a HUION tablet, which is fine for art, but doesn't quite work for me in music. I wish it did, because regular mice give me tendonitis. The ergo mouse helps a lot, as does the touch-screen, but the pen requires no flexion of the index finger.

Apple Magic Mouse (80%) and Magic Trackpad (20%). I also use an SSL UF1 with custom maps for my main DAWs, which has become part of my muscle memory for music production.

Apple Trackpads one on the left and one on the right to balance and try to avoid RSI... disclaimer: it's not working, I still have RSI in both hands

I've gone through various mouse and trackpad devices and I always end up back with an Apple Magic Mouse, but we all are different. Now I place my laptop to the right of my main monitor so I could use it's trackpad from time to time so that's another combo solution. But I'm trying to use keyboard shortcuts as much as possible as that is IMHO the fastest way to interact with a UI.
