NAS, if you don't like it, why don't you just quit your bitching and move on to something else? You got nothing better to do but post the same thing over and over and over again, or what?

If you don't want it, don't buy it. Go spend money on eXT (cheaper) or Cubase SE or Cakewalk Home Studio or Fruity. There's plenty out there that'll do what you want that's not Tracktion.

Go make music or something, stop sounding like a whiny little brat that didn't get the toy he wanted for Christmas. Cripes. You've posted pretty much the same thing here and in the Tracktion forums, isn't one place enough for you?

I for sure understand having a small budget for music... But seriously, if people have 'studio's' and can't afford a sequencer for $200, what do you actually have in your studio? Guitars, amps, mics, drums, monitors, mixers, keyboards etc. etc. will all run thousands of $. T2 is just another expense, and considering the sequencer is the heart of any studio I don't see $199 as ridiculous.

Sorry but your wrong when it comes to my particular band ,They are not computer literate and just use it to track orchestral pieces for our film ,In this situation a sequencer is just a utility to them but they could understand T and find new features and use them ,Hopefully Tracktion CM will happen and they wont ever have to buy anything.

There no way our violin player is going to pay $200 for a sequencer to just lay up tracks but she was even programming MIDI and using racks in T1.

If CM Tracktion comes about and Jules irons out the bugs i have to be honest i dont think i or the other members of the band who bought T will upgrade.

There's a difference between being "full of bugs" and just having it's share of bugs. EVERY program that exists has bugs, including Tracktion. But you yourself said that it hasn't crashed for you in 2 years. Seems pretty stable to me. Stability and bugs aren't always related. I agree that there are many things that may need fixed, but T's not full of bugs. Besides, even to this day, only ONE MAN does all the coding. And considering that compared to other apps, T has very few bugs, I think that's pretty impressive. Some software have an entire TEAM of programmers and still can't get it right. In fact, alot of this software costs 4 times what T2 will cost. So be realistic, and I will be too. As I said, not perfect, but far from the opposite also.

Sorry but you argue that we should give Jules a break because hes on his own ,Theres a heftier price tag and Mackie distribution which would mean anybody who doesn't know about Jules thinks this is a mackie product ,So what your saying is a warning for Mackie then that there customers should expect an inferior product because theres only one programmer (And im fairly certain theres two)

LET ME SAY AGAIN I LOVE T1

You've become boring. If you'd actually said anything new it'd be a different story, but it's the same old snivelling replayed again and again. And I'll post what I want to, when I want to, just like you will - I'm as entitled to providing my opinion (once!) as you are.

And no, I'm not a particularly friendly chap when I'm annoyed, nor do I feel a need to be so in this situation. I'm fine with that.

If you'll excuse me, I have some recording to finish before it gets too late. Have a nice day.

3*s wrote:Yeah, it's kinda lame to package a sequencer with extra software just to give it a more "pro" pricetag, however this is what you're getting:

Slayer2
Sample Tank SE
Sample Tank SE Loops
Amplitube LE
bs-1 (Soundfont player)
RMIV
Mackie ZR-3 (Organ Sim)
Final Mix (Mastering Software)

So really it's not a bad deal.
I'm pretty curious about the Sampletank/Amplitube stuff. Just how crippled are they? Glorified demos or actually useful?

Also, Mackie ZR-3. They mean this?
http://www.kvraudio.com/get/213.html
So now its somehow Mackie ZR-3?

NAS: Send your band over to the EnergyXT website. Its just as easy to use as Tracktion, and only costs $40 or so.

My dad never owned any recording equipment until a couple of years ago, when he bought a 4-track tape recorder for $300, just to lay down a few tracks. $200 for Tracktion would have been a bargain.

im very impressed.

im just interested to see what sort of discount the existing users recieve. i also wonder if there is going to be a discount ppl who already own rmiv or slayer 2.

By the way, I think the price is right for what's included. I would have preferred an unboxed, no-extra-plugin T2 for $150, but I'm sure I'll use whatever is included anyway.

Actually, there's not even any need to move on. What's wrong if someone stays with T1?

Besides, T1 users most likely won't pay anywhere near
$200. As a guess, I'd say T1 users will get an $80 discount (The price of T1) If so, that means T2 is even cheaper at $200 - $80= $120.

EnergyXT is possibly the biggest bargain to be had for sure, but as easy to use as Tracktion? Certainly not for me, it took me 10 minutes to learn to navigate Tracktion interface and I had the begining of a midi song laid out after an hour using it; I tried EXT for a whole evening and, quite frankly, couldn't make heads of tails out of it and I still can't, so I dropped that idea.

As i said i probably wont if Jules still suppoerts T1 ,And i already use EXT but theres no way most non PC litertate people are gonna use it not like they can with T anyhow.
