So, this ends the Soundwide saga. Now we know the destiny of PA/Brainworx as well.
My gut-feelings as a customer are positive; we are not jumping into the unknown with a completely new ownership (or, worse, with a new owner with a bad reputation)… this is probably one of the best possibile outcomes for the brand (if not the best). I mean: I expect a very smooth transition to the new ownership (almost a “no transition at all”) and to be back to business as usual, like it was before the Soundwide merge…

The real headline there is that Native Instruments had support staff.

If no one ever forgave me for being a dick to them, I'd have no friends at all... oh wait.plexuss wrote: Thu Jul 16, 2026 4:53 pm Not a fan of Dirk. He was a D*ck to me and ended up apologizing. But I basically stopoed buying their stuff. That will continue. Unless there is a no brainer. I haven't seen a no brainer deal out of them in years. So, fine, no matter to me. Good luck to all.

I think this is a good outcome...especially for Dirksin night wrote: Thu Jul 16, 2026 9:37 pm So, this ends the Soundwide saga. Now we know the destiny of PA/Brainworx as well.

He would have pocketed quite a few million dollars when he sold it and laid a lot less of those millions down when he acquired it all back again...
Nice work f you can get it

These experiences suck and I feel bad for all those that were stuck in the rollercoaster of mergers, acquisitions and finally shown out the door. That stress takes a serious f**king toll on anybody.
I guess there’s more surprises coming from the NI/inMusic brand. I keep wondering where the S series keyboards fit in their lineup, and that probably they just don’t fit which would suck.
As for PA, I guess we’re back to hearing how perpetual licenses are for old-timers and subscriptions are where it’s at.

In the headline that's just standard headline capitalization. In his signature, it's also correct for him to capitalize his role in the company.Download SOphist wrote: Fri Jul 17, 2026 12:28 amwhy is the Founder written with a capital F? is it just me that get itches with this?El°HYM wrote: Thu Jul 16, 2026 9:40 pm How many of you have actually clicked on that link.![]()

In the body text, "founder" is not capitalized (unless I missed an instance).
So, maybe just you?

I wonder how many other private equity firms have regretted their acquisitions in recent years because of a certain self-dealing American Doofus causing so much uncertainty in the world's economies.Kypresso wrote: Thu Jul 16, 2026 3:46 pm Anyone want to guess how much less he paid to buy it back than what he got for selling.
He's a crafty old sod.![]()
On a side-note, I wish there were an apt nickname or two for private equity firms, similar to the perhaps unfair "vulture capitalists" for venture capitalists -- who by comparison can be more beneficial than destructive, it seems.
Hmm, maybe "peqmaxxers".
