I do wonder if this synth was built from the ground up, or if they have an in house VST generator that works through Reaktor? It looks kind of generic-ish to me.Cuauhtli wrote: Thu Jul 16, 2026 8:00 pm A re-sizable gui for FM8 would be great
And don't abandon reaktor, which they probably will now with all of the AI, err, stuff.

What is Fors? I looked up "Fors vst." They have a bunch of plugins. Which one is this copying?tumface wrote: Thu Jul 16, 2026 3:01 pm I can't believe I lived to see Native Instruments make a knockoff of Fors.

I think they are talking about the look and not the function.Dirtgrain wrote: Thu Jul 16, 2026 9:41 pmWhat is Fors? I looked up "Fors vst." They have a bunch of plugins. It's garbage like this why Native Instruments is firing hundreds of employees today.
For anyone who doesn't get it, I'll explain:
NI put zero dollars into development. I'm sure this nobody DJ is shitting himself that the (once) mighty NI picked up his boring-ass vibe-coded 1990s rave supersaw that wouldn't be much more than an ironic preset on an Arturia synth.
This illustrates that NI is neither in the position nor has any interest in investing in worthwhile products, including their own existing catalog. This is a ship that isn't merely sinking, it's already at the bottom of the ocean.

Yeah no that speculation is going to be off base. This guy is fairly well known and I doubt that he vibecoded anything himself considering the whole thing has NI's aesthetic written all over it. It's going to be backed by Reaktor like all their other "small" synths.jamcat wrote: Fri Jul 17, 2026 12:55 am It's garbage like this why Native Instruments is firing hundreds of employees today.

I like the idea of opinionated, artist-based synths on paper, kind of as an analogue to boutique guitar pedals. $99 is way too much for something like this though.

Yeah I agree, it's priced too high. $49-59 for this makes a lot more sense to me.
