That's probably based on a loyalty discount, for someone who already has quite a lot of their stuff. (The price Im seeing, for example, with only a few older things, is about $100 less than the current (50% off) price of $299.)Echoes in the Attic wrote: Mon Jul 06, 2026 12:05 pmWhere is it 64 dollars?kropotkin303 wrote: Sun Jul 05, 2026 4:31 pm I will be buying Synth Stack 6 by Cherry Audio. An idiot on Set Theory:

That's right. I have a load of CA synths so only getting 6 more on this price, but that's good.

Upgraded to Pro-C 3, bought Tape Fiasco 2, Three-Body TransiQ and Unmask. I also grabbed Valhalla FutureVerb and Delay (by mistake, could have sworn I had FV in the basket, but it's not the worst plugin to have
)

Meanwhile (twelve days later) it seems I have gone mad and bought a bunch more stuff, and I'm not quite done shopping. (I promise it was not at all to increase my forum aura.)
Total Studio Max 5 Maxgrade (for a sense of completion)
Reason+ one-year sub (given all the other purchases, now I wish I had just upgraded Reason)
Ableton Live 12 Standard (again)
Mixbus 12 Pro (that was a free upgrade because of a grace period)
SSL X-Comp, X-EQ 2, X-Saturator ($40 total because of sales and Knobcloud)
UVI Falcon Extended Bundle ($189 at Thomann at the time, but that sale has ended)
UVI Prisma ($49 after the $100 voucher from Falcon)
UVI Synth Anthology 5 ($59 after the $30 voucher from Prisma)
Pianoteq Stage upgrade to v9, plus Shigeru Kawai
UAD: seven effects plugins
Sample Logic Gamelan ($125 at Best Service)
Still on the list:
SPL Vitalizer and BiG (even before I learned about Dirk U. re-acquiring Plugin Alliance!)
Something from EastWest: either Goliath and Spaces II, or an annual sub to ComposerCloud (I'm deciding whether to buy individual licenses as time goes on and sales come up, or just kick the can down the road by resubbing)
I think there might be one or two more things I'm forgetting about, but I also do feel I'm approaching some kind of limit where I will slow down on the spending for a while, not just because of money but also from a sense of satiety and also an awareness of the consequences of overchoice.
MADNESS! Don't let it happen to you! So many ingredients for so few results!

That's a nice way to think about it!
But if the dev's kids are smart, shouldn't the parents just give them enough of an allowance to forget about wasting time in college and take chances on startups for first-mover advantage?
