:sigh: I did not bother reading through this whole thread. Life is too short.

Barry Manilow's "I Write The Songs" was no written by Barry Manilow. It was written by Bruce Johnston of the Beach Boys who, ironically, only wrote a few of their early songs and none of their classic big hits/ He was primarily responsible for a huge part of their harmony sound.

The stories I could tell about this business. But who cares? Most likely nobody here.

The only thing that disqualifies anybody as a songwriter, musician or whatever is themselves. If you don't think of yourself as a musician, you're not. Self doubt is the worst thing in the world. That's something I never suffered from. When I first started writing, my songs were horrible. But I would never admit to it. My productions were horrible. I would never admit to it. If I had, I would have quit. Today, I have a number of professional releases earning royalties. Yeah, it took me over 40 years. But had I suffered from self doubt, it would have never happened.

I use AI vocals for my songs. That doesn't make me not a singer because I still have to sing them.

I was told by the owner of Music For World Peace Records (where I have 12 singles released) that this is my best song. I'm not sure I agree but it's damn good and nobody can tell me it's not.
