Mesa Double Rect... oh yes, I am in flavor country.
I hope the "and many more" includes a 5150.

Mmmh... maybe I can ditch my Line6 amp now (for recording purposes that is)

We'll see if it is in the same ballpark as the Vox ToneLab. I very highly doubt it though. IMHO Amplitude 1.xx sounded absolutely s*** (IMHO !!!). But then again, no software has sounded even close to a real amp yet.. (plugin wise IMHO simulanalog guitar suite at 96khz samplerate is closest but still very far from convincing).

This is one of those deals I'll have to hear first. I still think the PodXT is the best modeler on the market now, and it's actually cheaper than Amplitube 2, but for that kind of sound quality and convenience in a plug-in it may just be worth it. Here's to hoping IK can pull this off.
I'm sorry this post wasn't about techno.

I love Simulanalog, but I don't know why so many people claim it's the best sounding. Don't get me wrong, I love it, but it's not the holy grail. Also, could you clarify what you mean about the 96k? Where in the signal chain is the 96k, and how does it affect your sound quality? I don't mean that to sound snotty, I just mean that I seriously don't know what you're referring to.
Vox Tonelab seems the business. Best of the hardware amp sims, by most accounts, though I've never really tried it.
Amplitube? It's always sounded good to me, though I'll know for sure after I get my hands on it with the T2 bundle.
I'm still pleased with the sound of Green Machine Amp II. For those of you who haven't tried it yet or haven't looked in a long while, do NOT overlook the filter and speaker emulation area... it's where tone is made and broken.

ok, look, 96khz = OVERSAMPLING.. means that the plugin runs at a higher internal sampling rate which means that problems with aliasing are reduced.
just run your host software at 96khz, play some guitar trough the simulanalog gsuite, record, and do the same at 44,1khz.. very different sounds. Distortion is one of the things that benefit a lot by oversampling, at least if you are after a "warm" tone.
Btw. Tonelab totally kills the PODxt for clean, half dirty and crunchy sounds but you can't really get good rectifier or other really heavy tones from it.
Cheers!

Wonder if they will have an upgrade from Amblitube 1.x?Funkybot wrote:This is one of those deals I'll have to hear first. I'm certain they'll have an upgrade for existing users, have you ever seen a new version that didn't? At any rate, hopefully it will be a case of "if you liked 1.0 you'll love 2.0". Quite a nice feature set, looks like they were inspired by NI Guitar Rig. If it sounds as good as 1.0 and doesn't eat too much CPU I'll be a happy camper.

what would be sweet is if we had an upDATE for i.x owners and not an upGRADE. i love free.
if it's a good enough deal, i'd probably jump on it, but i wouldn't have even purchased amplitube if i'd purchased reactor4 first....that baanaan electrique setup?? earcandy! plus ttamp and a few others. i use tridirt and tubebaby more than i use amplitube, because sometimes free is actually good....regular occurance around here, actually.
thanks for the heads up....i'll keep my eyes open and probably drop a few bucks on it.

It's completely amazing. I am hearing it for the first time at the show. It is phenominal. Honestly, if you didn't get it you would be missing out. It sounds better than any amp modeling I have ever heard. Blows away everything I've heard so far apart from a real amp and even that I have to say it sounds like the real thing. That sweet tone you get is there! I am so excited to use it.
Funkybot, without a doubt you will want it. Without a doubt in my mind when you hear it. In fact, I can't see anyone who is serious about music making with the need for guitar amps in plug-ins not getting this over anything else. Seriously. It's in a whole other ballpark. It's the same price as the previous version. It should be twice the price or more for what it does. It is such a bargain at this price whether you realize it or not. I know a lot of people want everything for cheap or free. This isn't. But, the value is unmatched for this as far as I have ever seen. It's too much. You think I am just hyping it? No way. It will sell itself. I know it. Just looking at the musicians playing it today it was completely clear. This is what musicians have been waiting for. Trust me. It's incredible. I never said this about AmpliTube 1. I always thought it was great and the first one that really did component by component modeling. It was the best for its time for providing certain things. But this is so far beyond that it should be called something else (like the jump from ST1 to ST2).
Sure, predictable that Squids who has an alliance with IK would say he loves IK products. But, that IS why SR works with them. While we're making new modules there is a team of developers bringing this and let me tell you it is a BIG hit at the show. I mean huge. You wouldn't believe the response. Jeez, Tunes and Lipro are here so they can tell you what they've seen in just one day. (If they could get on line that is)

I love the English wit. Genius!
Squids, I tend to believe you. I am fully sold on the hype already, and I haven't even tested it for myself. Yes, I'm THAT much of a nutbar for guitar-related stuff. However, bottom line is that it's still a week of work for me, and with other bills to pay, I can't get it.
I'll be enjoying Amplitube LE with the Tracktion upgrade, though.
