My attempt of a virtual big jazz band, meant to sound big, live and 'messy'. Although more 'showtune' than jazz, with a touch of fusion. Features solo trombone and trumpet, and the IKM Billy Cobham drum kit.
IKM did a phenomenal job recording Billy himself playing his kit, I put it to the test. It sounds like Billy himself. Each of the 8 drums had their own vintage "Neumann® U67 tube microphone". ($8k mics)
I wrote this in 2007 and now remade with better sampled instruments, shown below (except MODO BASS which is modeled). No A.I.
Features:
Bass: IKM MODO BASS 2
Drums: IKM Billy Cobham kit (SampleTank)
Elect Piano: NoiseAsh Sweetcase
Trumpet and Trombone: Librewave Bell and Bone
Brass section (horns and sax): DSK Brass
Effects: BReverb
No compression so careful with volume. All comments welcome.

Cool tune and nice arrangement! The kit sounds great - I had it when I used Propellerhead Reason.

Well, that’s a fascinating experiment: so you’ve rearranged an old live song
— and played or programmed it entirely using samples on the keyboard?
So yes — that turned out really well; it's amazing! The drums sound great —
very direct. I like the electric piano, too. The saxophone is also excellent —
though here I do notice that it sounds a bit too smooth, too even, too
"MIDI-like."
All in all, though — and without listening too analytically — great job! A
fantastic song, full of love and the joy of playing!

With the intro bass line I thought a reimagining of Army of Me was coming
Cool track.
