hmm, now you've lost me. the unlimiter, the IRC 5 mode in the maximizer... those alone make ozone 12 advanced worth it's price (plus bass control, etc). if there's something worthwhile (and sure, that's subjective), am generally in.dayjob wrote: Sat Jul 18, 2026 4:33 pmyes of course. it is what it is. just venting here.. which is half of what this site is right? i’m thankful i don’t know what is going on behind the scenes of every developer big/small. there are alternate tools thankfully and if something is crucial to my workflow that’s one thing but when it isn’t then i’m not going to worry too much about it.. but what’s interesting is by being sort of hostile w/upgrade prices they kind of guarantee that their product moves out of focus and becomes 2nd tier or 3rd tier in my workflow and no matter what they add to it or how they improve it, which, let’s be honest here, they aren’t blowing anyone’s minds w/the added features, they don’t inspire me to upgrade with such an outlay of cash.. especially in this economyfisherKing wrote: Sat Jul 18, 2026 3:08 pmdayjob wrote: Sat Jul 18, 2026 1:00 ami hear you. i’m willing to pay what i think it’s worth and i want to support developers. but after this circus of the last few years the upgrade price is a joke for that bundle after i’ve invested a lot of money in izotope over the years and have legacy products i liked using get dropped and relegated to an old computer for when the need strikes.fisherKing wrote: Fri Jul 17, 2026 9:55 pmand some of us are willing to pay what something costs, if that something has potential value for us. pretty simpledayjob wrote: Fri Jul 17, 2026 4:49 pm logged in to Izotope to see loyalty price for latest music production suite. saw price. laughed. logged out.
that being said. .there’s a path back to reasonable update prices especially when said products only have incremental bits added to the bundle... and they are not on that path.
we know nothing of what goes on behind the scenes with a developer, but it's their business, they can do what they like, charge what they like (or need).
hopefully, they listen to their user base; they need us. but i don't spend time stressing about these things, there's work to do. so i find the tools i need and dive in.
but whatever works for someone else works. and they are always alternative apps...this uncertain future and precarious world.
while the world is still here (and i am), am going for what i want, and mastercard can come get me once i'm gone
