Hey!

So I'll be leaving the KVR forum (for good) at around late August-early September, so I thought: why not share my music playlist so you can be updated on what songs are added to the playlist after I leave.

I have been working super hard along these past 6 months and I'm always learning new sound design and mixing/mastering techniques (e.g. ditching compressors so I would rely on gain staging instead, using volume automation for sidechain, using FX to create sonic variation (e.g. filter automation, phasers (particularly in Hemsworth), etc).

Thank you for the review! Now listening to "Green Island": some good vocals wouldn't hurt, though I realize you might not sing. Otherwise, I think it sounds pleasant. Do what works for you, though u-he Presswerk is the best (for me) compresser/limiter overall that I have ever used so far. You can always try it for a while for free.

Hey chief,

I listened to Hemsworth. I dig the arp that comes in about :35. I like how you take the energy up and down throughout the track. My ear kept anticipating some sort of lead line over the top, either a solo instrument or a vocal. Interesting key modulation towards the end. Thanks for sharing your work.

Thanks! The key modulation was inspired by something I did at school (the same exact chord progression too, and the teachers are a fan). I'm also a sucker for arps. I can see why you'd anticipate something like that, I did too

Thank you for the review! Now listening to Heatwave: I understand the appeal of the pumping compression, though I find it fatiguing after a while; it is good you had a break in the middle of the song. I think the song was well done. I could easily imagine people dancing to this in a night club. Cheers!
