The Next Chord Pop Engine (NC-5) is different from the chord tools you've used before. Most generators pick from a pool of chords that fit the key. This one is built on functional harmony: every chord change is scored for how strongly it resolves into the next one.

No AI. No black box. Every progression comes from real music theory, coded by hand.

You get a full song structure every time: Intro, Verse, Chorus, Middle 8, and a two-pass Outro that doesn't just repeat itself. Four harmonic families drive the engine under the hood. Native MIDI export — the harmonic reference, not a performance. No install, no login, no subscription.

Under $10. Double-click, generate, play.

Link in signature. Listed in KVR Marketplace too.

As always, thanks for looking.

EDIT/FYI:

This is not a browser for pre-made files — it generates the chord progression itself, live, in your browser (safari, chrome, etc.). Every time you hit Generate, it runs the harmony engine and outputs a new song structure (Intro, Verse, Chorus, Middle 8, Outro) based on functional harmony scoring, not a lookup of stored files.

"No AI" doesn't mean "no generation." It means the generation logic is hand-coded music theory instead of a trained model. Both approaches generate, they just get there differently.

This is a smaller, focused tool, not trying to out-feature the AI-driven ones.

If I get this right this seems to be only kind of GUI/Explorer for your already existing midi progressions ? So no real generation, just a nicer surface then searching in windows explorer....

Of course no AI needed for this....

But, sorry, compared to all the real chord progression generation programs that had come out especially in the last months (with and without AI, just generative) this seems very reduced to me......but maybe if there is a market for it....

Thanks for the reply, tatanka.

Fair to compare it against other generative tools on the market. It's a small, focused tool, not trying to out-feature the AI-driven ones. If real-time functional harmony scoring in a lightweight browser tool isn't what you're looking for, no worries either way.

Thanks for more in depth explanation. I got the suggestion from all that different products with the same engine but different styles that seem to rely to the midi packs you already sell.

Yes, definitely nothing for me, but as I said will be an improvement for your actual customers compared to the midi packs only I am sure.
