Cool beans, Squids. :D

You've successfully got me super-excited and very very curious. I hope there's at least a demo so that I can hear what's going on while I'm waiting for gainful enough employment to afford it. Any idea if IK's got a demo version planned or not? :)

A demo version will come but it won't be right away. Maybe a few months. Maybe some audio demos before then though. It sounds so good... and Sickle will want one for sure. He jokes, he entertains but if he is into everything from classic rock to heavy metal etc then this is going to be his favorite software piece to come out in a long time. I really do think this but I could be wrong.

I know it sounds silly but I really do think that every producer will have it for sure. I can already tell from the response. People are going nuts over it just at the show and this is just a preliminary version. Wow. I am blown away. I am not THAT easily impressed to this level. But, I have to say, this is just beautiful all around. I can't wait until it is shipping. Maybe I can get my guitar player to use THIS and sound really good for a change instead of just being lazy.

If he doesn't want it, send it my way. ;)

Then it will blow your mind.

Hey, I am sitting in with Nuno Bettincourt tomorrow night. So is Yngwie and a bunch of other people. You may already know because we've been talking about it for weeks in the SR forum. But, maybe not. Gary Cherone is singing too but not when I am playing I don't think... although maybe he is. Doing some Zep and Yes.

Yeah, I saw you mention that; you're gonna have alotta fun. Screw Cherone, though..you should have Blackie Lawless as a frontman..

Nuno is ace. The guitarist community has kept track of him, but it's a shame he's never achieved widespread success beyond that. A really talented guy. Fantastic that you get to jam with him and Yngwie!

Sicklecell-- that track was effin' DOOMSDAY heavy! Was it for the Metel: The Revenge contest originally?

Er...

Thread hijack, sorry. :D

No, that was me in pioneering the Sludgecore scene as a member of Floor in the early 90's. If you wanna hear more of that, do a search in the Music cafe for sickle+crypt :D

Hi everybody,

what is this crap about amplitube2 being worth every penny??? At this price, it should come with hardware. Come on, their R&D can't be more expensive than what Line 6 is spending. And compared to something like a POD the overhead for IK multimedia is close to zero. No manufacturing, storage, shipping; no problem with warranty issues. I think the money they ask is an outrage, really. No matter how good it is. Guys, it's just 0s and 1s, if you download it it's not even the cost of a CD and the cardboard box it comes in when you buy it at a store.....

Cheers
Alex

That can ONLY be a joke. ;)

No, it is the same price as AT1 which sold thousands and won 12 awards so with 20,000 amps and all of the other features I think it should be double the price. Maybe after reading your post I will request that it is raised to $799 just to teach you a lesson! Just kidding of course. But, it is a myth that software has to be cheaper than hardware. That's a very superficial POV. What determines price is R&D costs and value of the intellectual property of the end result. How would you know if their R&D is more or less expensive than Line 6? I know that they spend more time on development and use different techniques with different expertise that Line 6 doesn't (and visa versa, they do many things that IK or other companies don't invest in).

You can speculate on that. But, I am sorry to say to you it is worth more than every penny.
