I don't know why there's such an explosion of modular environments right now, but I haven't seen a topic dedicated to MNodes yet, so here goes. I've been super impressed by it, its developer, its community, and the sheer scope of what it can do.
Edit, title changed for clarity:
From - A plugin for building plugins
To - A modular environment for building instruments, effects, and GUI's

I have bought the other plugins from Mario Nieto and they are all solid and useful/interesting. Harmony Bloom especially. Mario is great to deal with too and quick to resolve issues.
I've watched MNodes come together from his frequent YouTube videos which are very cool. This has a lot going for it in comparison to some of the other modular creations out there. Particularly like the gui designer. Will probably jump in to this when I have time to do it justice.

So it only exports 'plugins' that can load in MNodes?Turn your own samples and patches into instruments you can share or sell. Anyone with MNodes installed can open and play them.

I believe so. And it's understandable why that would be the case. No different than Reaktor or other such environments.aMUSEd wrote: Tue Jul 21, 2026 11:01 amSo it only exports 'plugins' that can load in MNodes?Turn your own samples and patches into instruments you can share or sell. The use of the word 'plugins' to describe what it makes was my choice. Here's the official blurb:aMUSEd wrote: Tue Jul 21, 2026 11:01 amSo it only exports 'plugins' that can load in MNodes?Turn your own samples and patches into instruments you can share or sell. You can create a self-contained instrument or effect with its own fully featured GUI so that users never have to interact with the back-end building blocks. Users can share what they make through the built in Hub. So no, it doesn't technically make standalone plugins.MNodes is a single plugin that turns into whatever you need. Load ready-made instruments and effects, let the LAB invent new ones, or build your own. Endless projects, all in one place.
Should I change the title?
A modular environment for building instruments, effects, and GUI's?
@slackhead Harmony Bloom is brilliant; that's how I got introduced to Mario.

Probably - tbh I thought it was a plugin builder myself until I read that detail in the FAQ so it might help to be more explicit. These are more like Reaktor ensembles than plugins - nothing wrong with that but it is different (ironically Reaktor seems to be developing in the direction of being a plugin creator in the near future).JsinOwl wrote: Tue Jul 21, 2026 3:49 pmThe use of the word 'plugins' to describe what it makes was my choice. Yeah, title sounds like you can make standalone plugins. I was aware of Mnodes as I got emails from Mario.

Not really interested in this myself. Being able to make plugins out of it is not something that I’m interested in personally, ymmv. Plenty out there that are just effects and cheaper. Even those are cpu hogs ime. Also can’t demo it.
I did buy the okaysynthesizer Nodes plugin. That’s enough for me.
