To us, it seems ridiculous to see projects with a single developer and virtually no users consuming as much or even more resources than some of the largest community projects on Codeberg, which operate frugal with CI/CD and storage resources. We do not believe it is reasonable for Codeberg to invest our precious donation money into hosting of large ghost projects.

This is about their business model though. It's also signaling at the moment. However, they will face the same detection problem that everyone else does. This will not go as people expect and will end up as tribal finger-pointing. For the solo dev, central git platforms don't really offer much.

I feel their pain, but, this is still an arbitrage moment as people use tools as they were intended from the past when the world was different to signal something that has less value going forward. They are correct, ghost projects provide little value. So, sunset projects with little to no activity, problem solved.

I will say though, that they're not wrong about open source being under threat.

How is feeding chatbots with old/rare books destroying them versus feeding said material into human consciousness?
As far as I can observe a select amount of humans have gathered information and eventually created A.I.
Are these old/rare books even relevant as far as innovation is concerned?
These old/rare books being fed into A.I. are to serve human feedback. I don't agree that they are being fed into A.I. because there was a run out of info. It's additional info being added.
